**Jackson's POV**
I'm running. Not in my human form, but in my beastly form. I hate it. Why do I have to be like this? No one can love a beast. Not even a true mate of a beast. I'm the worst beast of them all. I'm the largest and most powerful among them. I'm classified as an alpha in my old pack, but I never wanted it. I left them. I was a coward. I may be powerful, but I'm just as weak as a scared little human.
My wolf is a pure black colour. It is as black as the night. It has piercing light blue eyes that can be seen clearly because the colour of its fur makes its eyes stand out. It has a dark red scar running across its left ear. If you looked head on at my wolf, you'd probably either run away screaming or think it's cute.
I hate people who think my wolf's cute. It's a beast. Like I said; No one can love a beast. I'm alone in this world. No one can ever be close to me or know my past.
I'm actually currently running through one of the forests on the out skirts of Colorado. I came here because I heard that there was an attack on the weakest pack around this region. I vowed to myself that I would try and use my beast's power for good. So, I came here to protect their pack from the rouge wolves. God they annoy me.
SNAP! I take a sharp turn to my right and twist my body around to face the direction the noise came from.
A tall, slim man emerges from behind a large tree.
"No need to be alarmed. My name is Kyle. I am the Beta of the Full Blood Pack. I am here to take you to the pack house," He says calmly.
I bow my head as a sign of respect and follow him as he starts to walk back the way he came.
15 or 30 minutes later we come to an edge of a large clearing.
"You may want to shift back. Most of the children are out at this time in the morning and some of them have not shifted yet. They might feel a bit intimidated by your presence in your wolf form," Kyle whispers to me as he hands me a pair of basketball shorts.
I go behind a tree and shift. I quickly throw on the shorts and jog back to the clearing where I left Kyle. He just gives me an irritated glance that states that I took too long and we start to walk into the clearing.
Some of the older teenagers and kids were outside the pack house. They were all staring at me and giving me googly eyes. I couldn't blame them. I'm hot! I have shabby black hair that is cut off at the end of my ears. I have a tall and muscular structure. But the main thing that stands out for people are my eyes. They are like my wolves but different. They are a piercing blue to every person who doesn't know me, but to the people who truly know who I am, they are a many shades of blue. They apparently change with my mood.
Now back to the matter at hand. I'm in the pack house waiting for the Alpha and Luna to arrive. They are taking too long for my likings.
"Welcome Jackson, darling. We haven't seen you since you were little. We missed you," a high pitch voice yells from the corner of the room.
Oh. Did I forget to mention that the Luna of the Full Blood pack is my godmother/auntie. She can be a bit scary at times.
"I missed you too, Aunty Marie," I say cringing as she kisses my cheeks.
"I'm so glad you're here. You can finally put those fighting lessons you learnt to good use. Right after you go to school."
"WHAT?! Go to school? I haven't been to school since I was 14. I'm not starting now. I'm 18. No way am I going back to school!" I yell, extremely surprised.
"You are going to school because you need an education and because the person you need to protect is going to school." Now that catches my attention.
"I need to protect someone? But I thought I was sent here to protect the pack from rouges? Wasn't there an attack last week?" I respond.
"Oh, good heavens no. If you were paying any attention in your father's classes you would know that we are the strongest pack in the country and second in the world. I worry about you sometimes, Jackson."
"I never knew that. God. I feel like an idiot now."
"You should feel like an idiot. Now down to business. There is a girl I need you to watch out for. She is starting here last year of school and has just turned 18 today. Her mother was the Luna of the Deathly Moon Pack, the largest pack in the world. She has shown no signs of wolf activity, but neither did her mother until she was 18. I need you to keep an eye out for her. She could go into mating soon and she might be terrified if a giant wolf just randomly appears and starts humping her. I need you to teach her the life style of our kind. I don't know if she knows about us but seeing that her mother was very powerful, she might know a little about us," my aunt says in large gasps.
"So you want me to babysit and teach a pup?" I manage to get out.
"Technically, yeah. I also need you to keep an eye out for rouges. I've heard talk that they have been looking everywhere for the Great Luna's daughter and I'm afraid that they're going to hurt her."
"Ok. I'll take good care of her."
"I know you will. Now go upstairs and get ready for school. You have 10 minutes! Go, Go, Go!" she starts yelling.
I sprint upstairs and go to my old room that I use to stay in when I was here and get dressed in denim jeans and a white shirt. I throw on a dark jumper and chuck on some of my old converse.
"Time for school," I say before leaving.
