**Jackson's POV**

"Mate! Mate! Mate!" My wolf, Sebastian, screams at me. I try and shut him out, but it only causes him to start growling. The growl makes my whole body shake with power. I glance over at her retreating figure, vanishing from my sight, fiery red hair flowing in the breeze. Her vanilla and strawberry scent fading with each step she took away from me. Terra, that's her name. The pup I'm meant to watch out for. Damn it! Why does fate torture me? I can't have a mate! And to top it all off she's the princess of Lycans. Can this day get any worse?

"Earth to Jackson. Hello!" Amy, my little cousin, yells at me while waving her hand in front of my face.

"What?" I ask stupidly.

"You've just been staring off into space since Terra left. What's up with yo- wait... your eyes are bloody red! Holy shit! You found your mate! Who is she? What's her name? OMG! Is it Terra? But she's not even a were-" I clasp my hand on her mouth to keep her from rambling on. I just had to ask a rhetorical question didn't I. Well, todat just got freaking worse.

"If I let go of your mouth, will you stop asking me questions?" I asked, more like commanded, her. She nodded her head indicating that she says yes. I tear my hand away from her and shove it into my pocket feeling for my phone to call Aunt Marie.

"Now to answer your questions; yes I did find my mate. Yes, Terra is my mate and she is a werewolf, a princess of Lycans to be exact," I say to a gaping Amy. I dial in Aunt Marie's number and she picks up straight away.

"Hello, Marie speaking," Her voice echoes through the phone.

"Hey Aunt Marie. I found Terra with Amy. She's definitely a werewolf, and she's also my mate," I whisper the last part hoping that she didn't hear me say that she was my mate.

There was silence on the end other end then," Oh my gosh! Really? That means you need to keep a serious eye on her now. Not only is she the princess, but she's also your mate. Wow! Ok see you and Terra after school, bye!"

She hangs up quickly and I was now left with my thoughts and Amy, still trying to get out of her daze.

"Well, I'm going to go find my mate and ask her if she knows anything about her mother. Do you know where she went?" I asked Amy as I start walking towards the school.

"Yeah, she went to go tutor Blake. How do you know she's a werewolf?" She demands, braking out of her trance. My head whirls around to face her at such great speed I thought I was going to snap my neck.

"WHO THE HELL IS BLAKE?!" I yell at Amy, feeling my wolf breaking through my barrier. When did I get so possessive?

"He's a boy that Terra tutors every Monday and Wednesday morning, and he's also only seven years old," she replies in between slight giggles.

"Oh," Is all I'm able to say, my anger subscribing every second I come to accept that he's only a kid, but a little bit of jealousy replaces it. What the hell is happening to me?

"You didn't answer my question. How do you know that she's a werewolf?" She says as she crosses her arms across her chest trying to look intimidating.

"Her eyes. They changed from forest green to a bright purple colour when we touched. If that doesn't prove it, then I don't know what will," I say in a voice as calm as possible, when in fact I was feeling worried. Worried about what I'm going to drag Terra into. A life of violence, power, loyalty, hate and love. Wait.....Love? No way! Yes! No!....Maybe.

"Well then let's go find Terra," Amy shouts, breaking me out of my thoughts. She starts jogging towards the school not even waiting for me.

"This is going to be an interesting day," I say as I start running to school to look for my mate.
