/Prologue/

*flashback*

Bree's POV

"Honey, are you ready for you first day of school?" my mom called from the kitchen.

"Yeah" I said running down the stairs.

I was 5 years old and today was my first day of school. I was really excited but nervous because I was kinda shy and didn't like making new friends. Even though my mom said that it will be alright and I would make some friends that didn't stop my worry. As a 5 year old stuff like that is just about as scary as the monster under you bed.

As we got into the car, my mom helped me buckle and got in as well.

"So are you excited for school, Bree?" she asked from the front seat.

"Yeah, but what if I don't have any friends?" I asked her.

"You are going to be just fine. I bet that you are going to make new friends before the day is over." she assured me.

" Ok, I hope I do." I replied.

* at the school*

My mom had just left and I was playing with some blocks and waiting for my teacher, Mrs. Eaton to finish helping everyone unpack their bookbags, when I felt someone tap my sholder.

"Hi! I'm Luke!" the boy said, waving as I turned around.

"Can I play with you?" he asked.

"Sure" I said as I moved over so he had room on the play rug.

"Ok kids, its time to eat your snacks!" she said, walking around the room, passing out Oreos.

"Yay! Oreos! Those are my favorite!" Luke cheered

"Mine too" I happily replied, giving the excited boy a high five.

* time skip*

As we laid down for nap time, Luke laid his mat next to mine, and laid down.

"Bree?" Luke whispered.

"Yeah?" I questioned.

"Can we be best friends forever?" he asked me holding out his pinky finger.

"Sure" I answered, holding out my pinky aslo, and locking it with his.

"Good" he responds.
