I'm Amelia Barnett, age 13. I have been diagnosed with type 1 diabetes ever since I was only 12 months. Life has been very hard. My parents got divorced when I was 5. My brother died in a car accident by a drunk driver. My mom had a miscarriage. My grandparents all died of cancer. My life has never been the greatest. I live with my mom, but I visit my dad on the weekends. We live in an apartment. It's two bedrooms, one bathroom. I have a younger sister of the age of 5 who is still alive. She always gets sick and has to have a caretaker with her 24/7. At school I get bullied a lot. People judge me because I have to carry around a pump pack. They call me names all the time. At one point they took me into the bathroom and punched till my blood sugar went super low and I almost died. I have always wanted to do dance, but my mom doesn't have the money to pay for it. Now I'm in middle school in 7th grade. Life is going going to get tougher then it ever was before.

It all started when I moved to Florida. MY mom had gotten a new job as a nurse at the hospital there. That meant that I had to go to a new school. i walked into the class and e was starring at me. they gave me a look like I'm not wanted here. the teacher asked me to sit in the seat behind a girl named Jessica. she looked like she was one of those tough girls. she wore all black. when i sat down she gave me this nasty look. it seemed that my first day had already gotten off to a bad start. after the class was over, i walked over to the bathrooms to use the restroom. then jessica came over to me. she slammed me against the wall and started taunting me.that fight had gotten broken by the principle. they got suspeneded, but i know they will come back.

this leaves me to present time, today. everyone still taunts me. i guess they looked up to jessica. or maybe jessica had a pose thats threatning them too. while walking in the hall to my locker, a girl bumps into me. she accidently knocked over my books. she picked hem up and apoligized. that was not something you see everyday. espicially at this school.
