It had been almost a month since Terrance and I talked outside of greetings during meals. My father was getting irritated with him. My mother just kept reassuring him, he needed more time. His thoughts were muddled and his wolf wasn't much help. He avoided me even when I was out for a run along our borders. My wolf missed seeing her golden male.

"Father, a few wolves and I are going on the annual hunt for group D instead of sitting down for lunch," I reminded my father at breakfast. "Which wolves," Terrance demanded. He had moved up the ranks again, sitting with the Betas of the pack. I ignored him, he was not going to talk to me that way.

"Are the wolves you requested ready," my father questioned, eyebrow raised. "I asked if they would join me on a hunting trip with Bronze Fur," I said, knowing my place. "It's fine, with both of us," my father said as he turned to my mother who was about to say something. "Yes, quite," she said as she gestured to Terrance. Ask him to join you, her eyes said. I ignored her silent request and thanked my father and left the table. If he wanted to come, he could ask me.

I could feel his eyes burning me as I made my way to my room. His touch sent my skin ablaze as he grasped my wrist. He pulled me into my own room before closing the door behind him. "Which wolves Iris? I demand to know," he growled. His golden eyes were dark as his honey colored hair rose. "You can't demand anything from me," I reminded him as my wolf's canines presented themselves. "Please Iris, tell me," he asked, his wolf pushing forward. A warning in his voice towards any male that went too close to my body.

"Sarah, Phillip, and five juvenile wolves from our pack will be joining me. Preston Sprinter is taking a few juveniles with him as well," I answered. "The heir of Bronze Fur is unmarked," Terrance remarked as his canines presented themselves. "He has his mate. There is a ceremony they perform before they mark each other. We will be attending in two months while they prepare. Don't worry about him," I retorted as I frowned at him. He gave a snort that I didn't appreciate it. I was just glad he didn't do this in front of the pack. I didn't like discipling my mate but every wolf needed to follow our rules.

"I know I'm your mate, I won't let any male near where they shouldn't be," I said with a growl of frustration. "You shouldn't be hanging around any unmarked males regardless," he says. "It's not like you've tried to keep them away anyway," my wolf snaps back. "Which males have been sniffing around you," he snarls as shock registers on his face.

"What does it matter, it isn't like you're around anyway," I say as my wolf looks through his mind. She filters his thoughts but I can feel that they upset her. My suspicion of him completely avoiding me are true. My heart hurts with this realization. I may need to find a breeder. I ignore him and walk over to grab my bag off the bed to keep any tears from happening.

The bond has my blood start pumping as Terrance pushes me onto the bed, his hands holding my wrists gently in front of my face. I squirm only slightly as he presses his hips flush against my backside. His teeth nip lightly onto my clothed shoulder. "Is this better, my light," he questions. The provocative position has my cheeks turning red as I clenched my jaw shut to keep any noise from escaping my mouth. His cheek rubs against my own as I feel him against the back of my shorts. His hands release my wrists and travel down. He pulls the collar of my shirt down and I shiver at his touch. His other hand gently use my hair to force my head to the side to him for better access. This wasn't about domination, this was showing me who my mate was as he places his lips on my shoulder. Where his mark should be.

I couldn't help the noise of pleasure that escapes my lips. He stiffens and pulls me closer to him as he grunts. His chuckle causes my legs to feel like jelly. He easily pulls my legs apart as he steps closer to a place only my true mate should be. I bite my lips as I wiggle around. "Terrance," I say before being shushed softly by him. "Your clothes are staying on...today," he says. I don't know if he is saying this to me or himself.
