L.A. Baby- Grayson Dolan

"Kat. You've been sleeping late for the past week. Get up we have to leave right now to make it by 12 o'clock." Maddy says, shaking me awake.

"Chill dude. It's fine I'm up just give me 20 minutes." I say as I force myself up and start walking towards the bathroom.

I grab a loose tee-shirt and a pair of athletic shorts and hop in the shower. The water is scalding but that's the only way I like it. Maddy, on the other hand, likes it cold. She grew up with four other sisters, she's used to it. Living together works out perfectly. We compliment each other really well. I clean, she cooks, I take care of the dog, she does the shopping. We have a good system. I grab my towel and pat myself dry. I run a comb through my wavy, brown hair and I tie it up into a ponytail. I walk out of the bathroom and into the kitchen. I sit down in front of one of the fruit bowls Maddy had made a bit earlier.

"So what's the plan, Stan?" I ask her from over the island in the center of our kitchen.

"Well go to the beach I guess. Walk around a bit. Take a few pics with fans. We don't really have much of a plan." She says, taking a bite of banana.

"Okay well it's about a 45 minutes drive so let's go. It's already 11:30." I say

"Okay I guess just give me a sec to brush my teeth" Maddy says.

I walk to the door and grab the keys to the Jeep and I slip into my Birkenstocks. Maddy pops out a few minutes later and puts on her slides as well. We take the elevator down to the parking garage of the airport hotel and spend a good 15 minutes looking for the car.

We flew in last night

"Hey! I see it! Oh wait.....nope never mind that's not it." Maddy says.

"Maddy, we have a blue Jeep. Not a bright red ford." I say.

"Well duh I know that I just thought that was it."

"How though?" I laugh out loud.

"Whatever." She says rolling her eyes and emitting a brief giggle.

We find the car and we hop in to being what would feel like the longest 45 minutes of our life.
