"C'mon! It'll be fun!"
Erik looked at his friend then looked the cave,then back at his friend. "We can't Iwabe,we'll get in trouble" Erik knew better than to go in the cave,all the other kids said it was cursed. Erik could feel in his nine year old bones,that something sinister was in that cave.
"What's the matter,scared?" Iwabe teased. Nothing scared Iwabe,nothing. Iwabe was always the leader of the two,mainly because Erik never adventurous. Erik was the one who stayed inside and studied,always too shy to play with the neighbourhood kids.
"N-no I'm not scared,I'm just.." Erik trailed off. "Yep scared." Iwabe shrugs and turns to look inside the cave. "Guess I'm going in alone,you sit tight and watch a real man at work." He walks inside the cave and leaves Erik alone.
Erik takes a look at the cave with his knees trembling. He always followed the rules,a 'goodie goodie',the kids called him. They teased him for not standing up for himself or not learning magic as fast as they did. He was the last one picked for sports,the one left out when group projects came up. Then Iwabe came along,he stood up for him and never made fun of him for being bad at something. But now,Iwabe was leaving him behind,like the other kids did.
Erik was sick of it. He took one step forward into the cave. He knew that if he was caught,he would be in serious trouble. But at the same time,there was a slim chance that the other kids might accept him. Erik was gonna take that chance.
He put his other foot forward and began to walk confidently into the dark cave
