She hesitated, her fist mere inches from knocking on Jaehyeong's door. Was it really ok for her to be here? They had only reunited and were now nothing more than old acquaintances. Showing up at his door might even be an inconvenience.

Her fist finally connected with wood, and seconds later, Jaehyeong answered. He at least looked happy to see her. "Why are you here?"

"Can we talk?" She looked at him and was relieved when he nodded.

She stepped into the house and he led her to the living room. Then he offered her a drink, and he went away to make some tea. Sitting on the sofa, she looked about at all the things that she used to be so familiar with. It was all so nostalgic. Now she's getting all teary-eyed again.

As he made the tea, his heart beat fiercely in his chest. This was an unexpected surprise, but it was a good one. For days he had been working up the courage to call her and ask her if she wanted to meet up to talk about things.

Maybe what they needed for their relationship was time. Time to be by themselves and to sort their feelings out. Now, they were ready to try again - well he was, anyway. He wasn't sure about (y/n).

Whenever she was around, he couldn't fight the feelings she gave him - the love he felt for her. She got under his skin, in a good way, and he just needed to know if she felt the same.

After he was done, he went back to the front room. He placed the tray down on the coffee table and stood back up, only to have a petite figure pounce at him. Arms wrapped around him and (y/n) buried her head in his chest.

For what seemed like an eternity, the only sound that could be heard was the ticking of the clock and the pounding of their hearts; that seemed to beat in synch.

(Y/n) pulled away from him so she could see his face and said, "Jae, I know I was the one who left, the one who ruined it all, but I thought our relationship was going nowhere. I see now that I was wrong. You are the other half of my soul and will forever have my heart. Jaehyeong, can we start over?" She squeezed her eyes shut and prepared herself to be pushed away. Instead, he hugged her tighter to him. Then he lifted her face so he could lean down and place his lips on top of hers.

A year apart had made their hearts grow fonder and made their love stronger.

This was the start of their new love story.
