I moaned a bit as I shifted around in a twin sized bed, by the feeling of it. The mattress was softer than I was used to. It felt like I was floating on a cloud, nice and fluffy. I felt a headache grow within my skull, as I rolled around. It didn't pound as bad as it did before, but it still hurt. I started to roll over onto the other side of the bed, when I fell off completely and landed on the floor. I hit my head against the floor, as it shot a sharp pain against my skill. "Ouch" I said as I jolted up quickly, rubbing my head against the spot where I hit it. I opened my eyes to find myself in a little bedroom. It had tan walls and a light green carpet, which was patted a bit. Lying on the left of me, was a small bed that rose a bit from the ground. On the right was a tall dresser with ten small draws attached in it. I huffed as I looked at the tan ceiling as I huffed. "Where am I?" I thought to myself as I started to hear whimpering on the side of me. I looked with a little fear to find Roen in dog form. He sat by me, with his tail around his left hind leg. He whimpered as he tilted his head in confusion.
"Oh, it's just you" I said as I sat up, and got up off the floor. I went to sit on the bed, as Roen changed into his human form. "Good thing your safe" he said as he gave a big squeeze, then sat with me on the bed. I looked at him in confusion, but I didn't question him about it. Instead, I started to look around the room in confusion. "Where are we?" I asked aloud, but I didn't realize that I did it. "Your dad's house. This is a spare bedroom in the basement" he explained again. I huffed as he mentioned my dad. I looked at Roen in confusion, as I tilted my head. "Am I the only one here?" I asked him, hoping the other two got away in time. Roen huffed, with a slight sigh. "So far, but your dad needs to explain why this is happening." I focused on his tone, and how worried he seemed. I huffed in frustration as I looked around the room. "What could he possibly what now? I told him that I didn't want to destroy the humans" I sighed, as I got up from the bed, and started pacing around the room.
"Ella" Roen said in his silent tone, but I was too busy complaining to myself about everything. I continued as Roen finally yelled. "ELLA, WILL YOU LISEN TO ME!" he yelled, making me jolt back and give him a strange look. I have never seen him yell before, or get aggravated like that. I stopped complaining and gave him my full attention. He huffed as he settled down. "Sorry, I don't like to yell" he started off with. He looked around the room, as he looked back at me and patted the seat next to him. I sat down without complaining. Roen hugged like he was just about to say that someone died. "Ella, your dad did this for a reason" he started off with, but I interrupted him. "He probably wanted me out of the way, so he can destroy the humans." Roen huffed as he shook his head. "No, that's not his plan. He doesn't want anything with the humans." I looked at him in confusion, as he continued. "Your dad wants to protect the humans too."
Roen looked at me as he paused. I huffed before I spoke. "Then what does he want?" Roen huffed. "He just wants to protect you. I would go into more details but I think he would rather do that. Would you at least talk to him?" Roen asked, sweetly and calmly. I sighed before I spoke. "Why should I? He's the one that keeps kidnapping me" I said as I crossed my arms, and put my back towards him. "For me?" he asked, keeping his tone low and calm. I shook my head, not wanting to do it. Roen huffed before he continued. "Can you at least look at me, and tell it to my face?" I sighed before I spoke. "Fine" I said as I turned around to face him. He was in dog form, giving me his puppy eyes. His black eyes sagged in sadness as they grew huge. His ears were draped down his head, hiding in the fur that stuck out. His head was tilted to the right, as he whimpered in sadness. "Sorry, not going to do it" I said, as I turned around from him. Once again, he bumped my hand, trying to get my attention. I finally gave in, seeing him on his back, looking like he wanted a belly rub. I sighed, as I felt like giving in. I finally snapped out of my attitude as I scratched his belly. "How dare you use that cute puppy face against me" I said, as he wiggled with happiness. Finally, he formed back into a human, and got off the bed. "I do enjoy a belly rub. Alright, follow me" he said as he opened the door and waved me on. I looked at the door in confusion. "I could've opened that all along?" I thought to myself, as Roen popped his head back in. "Sorry, coming" I said, as I walked out.
He led me up to a single door, that was glass. I looked out, seeing my dad sitting on a bench, in the middle of a garden. The garden had a bunch of roses that was in full bloom. The sun was shining a yellowish white glow down on them. It looked like he was drinking tea, but I didn't know for sure. I looked at Roen in confusion. "Trust me on this" he said, in a trusting voice. I huffed as I nodded then entered the outside. I walked closer and looked around. There was flowers everywhere and a fountain, with a dolphin spitting out water, by the looks of it. I looked to the middle, seeing dad sitting on a bench, drinking something out of a tea cup. I stopped in my spot, as I cleared my voice to speak. "Dad? You wanted to see" I said but he interrupted me. "Please sit" he interrupted with, patting the seat next to him. I huffed, as I sat next to him, not saying anything.
Dad took another sip of his tea before he spoke. "Did they hurt you?" he asked starting a conversation. I shook my head, knowing he was talking about Urie and Mage. "No, I'm alright" I said, knowing he wanted to hear more. Dad moaned as he spoke. "That's good. It's a good thing I sent Roen after you when they took you." I looked at him in confusion, not knowing what he was talking about. "What" I said but he cutted me off. "Ella listen to me. The human world isn't safe to be wandering around. I did send Urie after you, but he didn't bright you here right off" he said, but he took a break from speaking. I looked at him in confusion. "You mean, they're not on your side?" Dad shook his head. "No, they never were. Too be honest. I found you in that building because Lindo told me" he said, as he was meaning it. I jolted in shock as I looked at him. He had his head down, as he started placing his cup on the table. "Da" I started to say, but he gave me a tight squeeze before I continued. "Thank goodness your safe" he said, sounding like he could break down and cry. "They didn't kill you" he sobbed. I just sat there confused as he cried. I didn't know what to do, I never seen my dad like this.
"Dad, what's going on?" I asked, but he seemed to ignore my question. "Don't leave me!" he yelled, as footsteps walked onto the patio. I looked at Roen in confusion. Roen huffed, but didn't say a word. I just sat there, letting my dad continue. "I don't want you to die, like your mother" he said, grabbing my attention. This is the first time he mentioned my mom. "Da" I said, but he cutted me off. "Don't leave me Ella. Please" he said as calmly as possible. "You and Roen are all I have left" he said, as he sniffled a bit. I looked at Roen in confusion. "I'll explain later" he mouthed as he backed up. For a second, I felt like all I needed was my dad. I sighed as I finally hugged him back. Dad lifted up as he smiled at me. "Alright, I think I'm all set" he said with a tear, still dripping down his cheek. He smiled at me, but lost it quickly. "If you wanted to go back to Lindo's, I won't stop you" he said with a huff. I shook my head, wanting to know more about what's going on. "No, I think I'll stay" I said with a smile. Dad smiled back, as he backed up. "I'll let you settle, find me when your ready to talk more" he said as he got up, and walked back into the house. I looked at Roen as he just shrugged in confusion. Before anyone could speak, I got up and walked into the house, wanting to know more.
