"Jeff is at it again!" Jane basically screamed in my ear. I covered my ear. "Sorry about that, Osiras." She chuckled slightly. I smiled. Jane smiled at me. She then showed me the newspaper. In the newspaper, it read:
Jeff the Killer Strikes Once Again
Written By: Amanda Semmars
Jeff the Killer, America's serial killer slaughtered Joe Shaller last night. When I arrived at the crime scene, Jeff had already fled. We have evidence of his "visit" with Joe last night. We've found bloody finger print stains on the bathroom mirror. When we saw Joe Shaller's body, it had gashes in his neck and chest. The gashes seem to be inhuman. We found a knife wound in the center of his torn up chest that was certainly made by the one and only, Jeff. Joe Shaller had a smile cut into his face from ear to ear, similar to Jeff's. The police are getting closer to where Jeff is hiding. For any evidence of Jeff or you want to report a crime, please call your local police immediately.
I stared at the picture that showed above the report. The picture showed a man (which I guessed was Joe Shaller) with the same wounds they described in the article. I then noticed something weird. In the corner of the picture, a blurry sphere showed. I realized that it was a hand. I looked closer and saw streaks in it. They were deep cuts from a knife. They were cut into what looked like an hourglass. Jane noticed what I was looking at.
"Osiras, there isn't anything to worry about. What are the odds that he will come kill you? If he did . . . I would protect you." Jane said. We smile at each other.
"I would protect you, Jane," I said. "I promise you that." We sat next to each other. The room was completely silent except for the buzz of the television. We gazed into each others eyes for a brief minute before looking away. We both blushed. We seemed to be the only two people in this world. Jane looked down to her watch and sighed.
"It's time for me to go, Osiras." Jane gazed at me. "I promised to go to the mall with my aunt. I will see you around, pal." She walked out the door before I could say good bye. I sigh.
"At least my only friend came over. How long have we been friends for?" I asked myself. I think about the memories from our past. "It's been 8 years now." I get up off the couch and walk to my bedroom. I lay down on my bed. "The best 8 years of my life." I fall asleep slowly in my bed. Only Jane knows how to get into my house, I tell myself as I fall asleep.
