Stupid fuck nugget

I remember the assignment waiting for me and start thinking what would be the best choice to do. David sees my doubtful face and laughs.

"Come on, it'll be fun. You've been so stiff these past few months, you could use some time to relax, man!" One day off can't be any harm. I know my targets routine, so I can always sneak up on her tonight as planned. I accept the invitation and David pulls me away from were we have been standing all this time. "Let's go grab a drink before we head over to the cinema."

David and I talked a lot while he showed me around. I had to be careful to not tell him about my secrets, because David was very easy to talk to. For example, at some point while we were talking he asked my if I had a job. I said I did, but that I didn't want to tell him where because it would be too embarrassing. That turned out to be a mistake as it took his interest. The rest of the way he tried to get me talking. Luckily I soon saw a cafe where we could have a drink. Fortunately it was the place David had in mind. The cafe was near the cinema David wanted to go, so we went in for a drink. I think David noticed that I wouldn't tell him about my job no matter what, so he let it go. He didn't mention it again for the rest of the way.

When David opened the door to the cafe I immediately got overwelmed by a strong scent of beer and strong alcoholic drinks. David didn't seem to mind it, but it left me in a state of confusion that I couldn't place. Something about this place threw me off balance, made me feel weak and vulnerable. I tried to think of anything that could do that to me, but no matter how much I tried to come up with a sensible reason, I couldn't. Completely lost in thoughts again I feel someone stop me from walking. I turn around, confused, and see someone familiar stand behind me, laughing so much you could just see tears form in the corners of his eyes.

"Stop laughing you stupid fuck nugget. I can't help it, this place creeps me out and I don't know why!" I said, half joking.

"Oh my god, your face when you lose your thoughts is still gold as ever. And why are you still using those random insults," the person said, laughing even harder now. "It's good to see you too, buddy. It's been like, what, 3 years?" He pulled me in for a hug and I happily responded.

David finally seemed to notice that I hadn't followed him and came back. He froze when he saw me hugging the almost two meter tall guy. It was only for a fraction of a second, but I thought I saw a hint of jealousy in his eyes. However, even if I did, it had disappeared as fast as it had appeared. He walked over, showing nothing. I broke the hug and took a step back. "Someone you know?" both David and the other said simultaneously.

"Oh right, let me introduce you two. David, this is my childhood friend, Zack, although I always call him stupid fuck nugget. Zack, this is David, a classmate of mine. He asked me to go to the cinema with him."
Zack's eyes lit up and he picked his next words annoyingly precise as he joked: "So basically you guys are on a date. I'm so jealous."

"Oh stop it with the jokes, nugget, you know I can't date anyone, not with my job." I ticked his forehead. He knew about my job and he's had his suspicions about me being something not human, but I always managed to fool him on that part. "But David and I should go get our drinks, otherwise we won't make it on time for the movie."

"We should totally meet up soon though, do you still use that phone number?" He said, taking the hint. "No, my phone broke a while back when I was out for a job. I can give you my new info, so we can make some time to meet up." I pulled out my wallet and searched around in my stack of fake buisness cards until I found the on I was looking for. I took it out and handed it over.

"Well then, have fun on your date~" Zack continued teasing me before he stepped out of the cafe. I rolled my eyes and turned back to David to tell him he shouldn't take Zack too seriously. David nodded and we went further into the cafe to the bar to order our drinks. David ordered a hot chocolate with whipped cream and I ordered a cup of coffee. Both of use paid seperately, after David refused to let me pay for the drinks. We found ourselves a small empty table in front of a window and sat down. We chatted a lot and I had a surprisingly good time.

After about an hour we had to go to the cinema, if we wanted to get there on time. We got our tickets and hurried to our seats. We barely got in time as the advertisements ended when we found our seats.

During the break we bought ourselves something to drink and a snack. David got mixed popcorn and a cola, while I wanted to grab a beer and some candy. I wanted to, but changed my mind. I had to work after this. It didn't matter that I couldn't get drunk on alcohol. It would look bad and my targets might smell me if I smell like beer. It was the same for the candy, too smelly.

"Aren't you going to buy something?" I looked up and saw David patiently waiting for me.

"Yeah, I will, but I don't know what I should buy. I have to work after this and my boss hates it when I eat or drink something with a strong smell before work." I replied to him, trying to sound as convincing as possible.

David bought it and pointed towards the soda machine. "Cola always works for me. It doesn't have a strong smell, but it is nice, cool and tastes good. As for food I'd go for chocolate, lolipops or no food at all. Most foods here have a strong smell to make people more likely to buy them."

I walked towards the soda machine to follow his advise. Like he suggested, the cola was barely notable for human noses. As for food I went for two chocolate bars: one dark chocolate bar and one milk chocolate bar. I paid for everything, thanked David, who was smiling to himself, for his advise and walked back with him.

We went back to our seats and finished watching the movie.
