Chapter 2

Olivia's POV

I woke up by the warm sunrays touching my skin. Oh, what happened last night? Then everything flashes back in my mind. Is it really for real? I must be dreaming. It must be some kind of a  random dream.

Nathan! Yeah. Nathan.

I changed my pj's into a plain whute shirt and a denim shorts pairing it up with a black converse. I brushed my teeth and fix my long wavy chocolate brown hair fall naturally. I put some mascara making my astonishing green eyes pop up.

I ran downstairs. I heard the tv is on. Nathan, sitting on the couch with a coffee in his hands.

"Morning Nate!" i greeted him. While i walk through the kitchen to get some cereals. I was going to wash my hand but then the faucet is broken.

I reach for the key and i felt my left arm, wet. I search for where it came from. The faucet is bursting waters.

I shaked my head. Am I imagining things?

"Nathan!!!" i yell. On the cue, Nathan got here in no time. Probably bc our living room is just the other side of the kitchen.

"What's up?" he whines

"The faucet is broken." he just nodded.

"I'll fix it later. Hey, how are you feeling?" he interrogate.

"Better? Why?" i ask with a questioning expression

"You passed out last night. Didn't you remember?" he informed me. Holy macaroni! So everything is...so it's not a dream?

"You mean that wasn't a dream? You really evolve into a fish?" i said making him giggle

"I'm a merman smarty pants! And tomorrow is your 18th birthday!" he cheered and hugged me. Yeah he's really that sweet kind of a brother.

"Uh okay" i tittered a little

"It's time to tell you the tradition of mermaids." he stated. I nod and let him speak

"Poseidon is the son of King Tritan and Queen Azura. He disobeyed his father's order of restraining the merpeople from the land. Poseidon, fell inlove with a human and they had two child. King Tritan got angry because of his son's betrayal. He punished him by not seing his child and wife until his daughter turn 18. Poseidon made his way back to his family, he gave his wife two pendants that should be given to his child when his daughter turn 18. He said goodbyes to his precious family and then when he reaches the water a huge water tornado swallowed him and vanished." he unfold. A tear rolled down through my cheek.

Nathan pulled me into a hug. I sobbed in my brother's chest. He rubbed my back soothingly

"So does that means when it strikes midnight i'm turning into 'mermaid' and have tails of a fish. No no no! Nate, i don't want that to happen! Cirilla and I have plans for our 18th birthday since we we're 10!" i begun to cry again. Cirilla is my best friend. Just like me, Cirilla never met his father.

"Oh and about Cirilla, she's a half blood mermaid too."
