I just got back from a meeting with my manager, and I have very exciting news to tell my boyfriend, Colby Brock. I hope that everything will be ok, it's not bad news, it's just I don't know how he will react. I finally reach my house and call Colby * Hey Y/N!
You: Hey can you come over for a bit?
* Yeah! Um...is everything okay?
( I suppress a giggle of excitement)
You: Yeah, everything's perfect actually!
* Okay, see you in a bit then!
I end the phone call, mostly because I hate goodbyes, it's kinda ironic in this situation though.
* TEN MINUTES LATER*
I hear a knock at my door, it's Colby! : )
I open the door, " Hey colbs, come on in!"
" Hey Y/N/N! So what's up?"
I break out into a huge smile and tell him the good, well actually great news. " I'm going to New Zealand for a month!" I expect him to smile, but his face turns sad and angry. " No, Y/N why would you do that?"
I stand there speechless for a moment, did he just tell me no? " Babe, it's for a charity, it raises awareness for wildlife endangerment and environmental safety, you know I'm passionate about helping people and animals. Why is this a big deal?" I wait for him to say ' You're right Y/N' but he only argues more : (. " You didn't take it though, right?" " Of course I did Colby, are you not happy for me?" I expected him to be happy or at least a little supportive. " No, you didn't even ask me? I'm your boyfriend!" " Colby, come with me then!" He shakes his head and moves to the door, opens the door and before he leaves he says " Why do you have to be so selfish?"
" Colby?" I cry, knowing I just hurt the person I love most. It's not selfish though. We've been together for five years, " I was gonna have a fiancee..." I throw the ring against the wall and watch it bounce off, I get up and leave to catch my flight.
