Melted

My bones.
They're cracked.
My skin.
It's cold.
My flesh.
It's frozen.

The water.
It's melted.

My bones.
They're still cracked.
My skin.
It's still cold.
My flesh.
It's still frozen.

I'm free.
Free from ice.

I walk to town.

With my cracked bones.
With my cold skin.
With my frozen flesh.

My friends aren't here.
My family isn't here.
I don't know anybody.
Nobody knows me.

My bones crack.
My skin cold.
My flesh frozen.

My family isn't here.
My friends aren't here.

They all died.
While I was trapped in ice.
Then it melted.
Now I'm here.

It's a new day.
It's a new week.
It's a new month.
It's a new year.

I'm in a new time,

With cracked bones.
With cold skin.
With frozen flesh.

I wish the ice never melted.
