The cab dropped me off and as I got out I realized my legs were a little shaky from the kiss. I grabbed the nearest tree and waited until the world turned back to normal. With each shaky step I made my way to the door and jammed my key in the door
I unlocked it and ran right into Rosalie and Isla. I stumbled back and yelled "What the hell?!"
They crossed their arms and smirked. "Congratulations on making the team." Rose said.
"Ya. We don't like, know how you did it, but we like, know you cheated us out of that spot." Isla said in her high pitched whiny voice.
I put my duffel bag down and sighed. I put a reassuring hand on their shoulders, "Guys, the only thing I cheated you out of is good dance skills."
They gasped and I gasped too in a mocking way. Isla stomped her feet and screamed, "Mom!" We heard a clanking and they turned their attention back to me. "Your gonna get it now."
The kitchen door swung open and Lynda came out with her face coated in flour and a spoon in her hands. "What?" She leaned against the door frame and looked at me pointedly.
Rose pointed at me and whined, "Ava was making fun of our dancing!"
"How dare you! I taught them everything!" Lynda scolded.
"I know. That's why I called them terrible. Duh."
They all gasped at this and Lynda pointed to the stairs. "No supper! Go to your room!"
"Are you cooking?"
"Yes."
"Well, then thank you." I called over my shoulder while heading towards the stairs.
She gasped again but as if she were trying to embarrass me she said, "Do you realize your still wearing a sports bra?" The twins laughed and Lynda smirked.
"Do you realize your still wearing those masks? Oh, wait! That's your regular faces. Almost gave me a heart attack!" I said clutching my chest. All of their hands flew up to their faces and Lynda looked in the mirror. I laughed and ran up to my room.
I went up to my room and shut the door as soon as I got in. Lynda was engaged to my dad. They had been engaged for a year and a half and still nothing was being planned. She was a leech. I didn't trust her but my dad was convinced he loved her.
I took off my shoes and entered my bedroom/ converted dance studio. My room over looked the entire city and beach almost. Two of the walls were glass and the other two were mirrors. My bed was in the far corner and other than a ballet bar there wasn't much.
I put my hair up in a bun and I relaxed. Finally. I turned on Bad Romance and began the dance I had learned today so I would remember it forever. I had the gift that I could remember every dance I had ever learned since I started at the age of four.
The room turned grey and then slowly turned black. I seemed as if there weren't windows anymore. I ran and jumped and I passed through the windows. I floated above the city. Adding my own flair, I did a couple acro moves and as Lady Gaga began to end the song, I did a flip and landed in the splits.
Someone began to clap and the sun dawned through the windows once again and I wasn't on top of the world. Damn. It was my dad who was doing the clapping. He was still in his pilots uniform and he was holding a silver box.
"Hi, Avy." He walked over to my bed and sat down. He sat the box down.
I got up and began to stretch. "Hey dad. Whats in the box?"
"A present. but don't open it until I leave for my flight to California."
"Alright. So what did you get the Wicked Witch of the West? Let me guess. A potion! No! A new broom! Now that's gotta be it." I exclaimed referring to Lynda.
