Chapter 4!

A/N: okayyy so bitten has 50 reads overall! Okay that sounds really small but if u guys have ever written a wattpad story u will understand the joy I'm feeling right now :) thank you guys so much :D

*Skyler's POV*

Callum walked me over to the science building again and showed me which lab I was in.

'Im just down that corridor, lab 7 in case you want something. Oh and the toilets are down there.' He pointed to the right and I thanked him.

'Who's your teacher?' Callum asked, flicking his brown hair off his forehead.

'Umm Miss Matthews. Is she nice?' I asked. Urgh I really wanted her to be nice! I love sciences especially biology so having a nice teacher would really make it the best subject EVER...apart from American Lit :)

'Well...I'll leave you to find that out!' Callum chuckled. He winked at me (again?!) and made his way to his own classroom.

I was just about to open the lab door when someone pushed past me and barged in. I was about to demand an apology or something but when he turned around I saw who it was...Zac. Just my luck.

I finally got into the damn lab and saw Miss Matthews already sitting behind her desk. She was the typical old, mean teacher. Grey hair piled into a bun, beady black eyes and glasses halfway down her nose. Her head whipped towards me and she motioned me over. I stood there for about 30 seconds until all of the students had piled into the room. There were a few empty spaces here and there, but not many. I recognised a few people from Callum's lunch table in the room, Zac, a guy called...Dylan? And that girl Sofia.

Miss Matthews put a hand on my shoulder and squeezed hard. Shit that woman had a strong grip!

'Okay class. We have a new student today called Skyler. I expect you all to be nice.' She said, her eyes slowly moving across the room, looking every student in the eye.

I didn't like her already.

'Skyler we have set places in this class and the person who left used to sit there. That is where you will be sitting. Zac, Ben, introduce yourselves to Skyler and one of you can explain to her what we have been learning.' Miss Matthews gave me a little push towards the desk next to Zac (yay...) and that guy...Ben?

I sat down and took out a pad of paper and my pencil case.

'Hi I'm Ben!' Said the guy on my left. I smiled at him. He had a huge grin on his face that reached all the way to his chocolate brown eyes.

'I'm Skyler.' I replied. 'Apparently Miss Matthews is horrible?' Callum had given me that impression when he had walked me here earlier.

'Yup! She's horrid...but she's a good biology teacher. Get good marks and she'll be nice to you.' Ben whispered.

'Lemme tell ya a little secret.' He said, leaning in and cupping his hand around his mouth. 'Big bad boy over there,' he pointed to Zac, 'is actually the top student!'

No way! Zac was good at biology? He so didn't look like it! Like Ben said, he looked like one of those stereotypical bad boys with the bad grades and ripped jeans! Miss Matthews started talking and both Ben and I turned to face her.

'Class! Today I will be putting you in partners to do a project. You will choose one of the topics we have studied this year and perform a presentation in front of the class next week.'

Sounds interesting! Call me a nerd or a geek or whatever but I seriously loved biology! Miss Matthews started reading the partners off a list.

'Hope and Scarlet, George and Sofia and Ben and Skyler. Zac you may work alone.'

How come Zac gets to work alone? Why didn't she give him the option of joining a pair and doing it in a three?

'He always works by himself. Hates being partnered with people. If he ever is he'll just do all the work by himself anyways.' Ben whispered to me. Miss Matthews let us all go to the library to grab a computer and start out projects. I followed Ben and he listed off all the topics they had covered so far. Luckily I had already covered them and new a lot about each one.

'I liked studying on arthropods, did you study them Skyler?' Ben asked sitting down in front of one of the computers.

'Yes! Oh my gosh I love studying arthropods!' I gushed. Arthropods were my favourite topic in my old school. 'Oh an you can call me Sky if you want.'

'Ok, Sky.' Ben said, adding extra emphasis on the Sky part. 'We shall do our project on arthropods!'

Ben and I started researching and producing the PowerPoint and script. I had to admit, we worked well together. I was just researching a bit about seals when I needed the toilet...#awkward, I know!

'Um Ben?' I sake, hesitantly. 'Where are the toilets?'

Ben chuckled and pointed me in the direction of the girls toilets. I walked over and pushed the door open. I froze.

In front of me was a sight I did not want to see....

Firstly, there was a boy in the girls toilets.

Secondly, that boy was making out with a girl. Like HARDCORE making out.

The girl had her legs wrapped around the guys waist and her back was pressed against the wall. The girl noticed me and pulled away from the boys lips...it was Sofia. You can guess who the guy was....yup it was Zac. Why do I always run into him at the worst times?

'Um what are you staring at?' Sofia asked.

I blushed and sidestepped round them into a cubicle. I kept my head down but felt their intense gazes glued on the back go my head. I quickly locked the door, sighed, and sat on the lid of the toilet.

'God just because she can't get her own boy to do that with doesn't mean she has to go around staring at us!' Zac said.

Ouch. That hurt. My eyes started to sting and I felt them tearing up. Shit! I was not going to cry and ruin my eye make up. I took a few silent but deep breaths to calm myself down. I peed silently and flushed the toilet. I walked out the cubicle and Zac groaned.

'Cant you keep it down? We are trying to talk here!' Zac said, his voice cold as ice.

I winced inside. Seriously what the hell is his problem?

'Whatever.' I said. I sounded confident, but inside my hormones were spazzing. 'Talking? More like eating each other alive.' I muttered to myself.

'What did you say?' Zac said, letting go of Sofia and turning to face me.

'Nothing.' I replied nonchalantly, and walked out the bathroom.

Where had that sudden burst of confidence come from? Usually I would've crumbled under his stare but just now? Woah...to be honest? I kinda like the new me! Unless that was just a one off....

Stupid Zac.

Stupid hormones.

Stupid life.

I walked back to where Ben was sitting and we carried on with our project. We had already finished it so decided that we'd practice it one lunchtime in the next few days. The bell rang and I saw Callum.

'How was Biology?' He asked, flicking his brown hair out of his face.

'Good.' I said. It wasn't a proper lie...it had been great until the toilet incident...and Zac.

Always Zac.
