{Ch- 20} Kidnapped!

"I'm sor-ry, Nan-dini. Am.. Am really.very sorry." Manik caressed the glass of the door where he could see Nandini lying on the hospital bed like a corpse.

His pale face and red shot eyes where the evidence that he was guilty of his behavior but now he can't rectify it because it was too late and the damage was done. Rubbing off his teary eyes, he walked toward the other ward where Amma, Navya and his friends where hysterically waiting for any good news with a worried face.
Yes, it was an operation theatre.

The doctor came out from the OT hurriedly with a nurse taking everyone's attention.
Manik stepped forward toward the doctor but Navya caught hold of his hand with a stern face and pushed him back walking toward the doctor.
Biting his lips to control his tears he kept standing silently.

"Raina kaisi hai?" Navya asked with a moist eyes.

" we can't say anything right now as bullet is still inside her body and we aren't able to locate the bullet but don't worry as we have our best surgeon for this operation and he would be here anytime soon. " the doctor replied while Amma palmed her mouth to control her sob.

Manik kept standing still with his bowed head and tight fisted grip because Raina's words were still ranging in his eardrums.

Without getting in anyone notice he made his move toward the exit of the hospital and walked out aimlessly in the busy road of the Mumbai. He tripped, stumbled and bumped with many peoples in the way getting their bitter and harsh words but it didn't went till his ears.
Finally walking like a hour he reached a temple and sat on the stairs.

20 Hours Before

"Reenu stop baby. I have lots to do today" Nandini stopped panting after running behind the small packet.

But Raina shouted loudly standing six feet away from her mumma "No! If I stop then aap mujhe pakal logi."

Nandini sighing heavily pleaded "I promise me nhi pakdungi. Ab fine?"

"No. First say that you'll let me go to the school today. Pleaseee!" Raina requested with a pout standing a fit away from Nandini.

"But baby I want to take you with me in the party. Don't you wanna meet your friend there? " Nandini asked hopping her to chuck the idea of going school for today.

"Yes I want to but fliend plomise me that he will come to meet me in the school itself." She lied on him promising to her as she have full faith on her fliend cum daddy.

"Manik ji promised you? When?" She caught her and made her sit on the table.

"Yestelday when he came to meet me then" she told poking her finger on the table.

"Jane do na Nandu usko. Waise v hume shaam ko party me jana hai tab tak she will be back from her school. Right baby!" Navya asked on behalf of Raina who gleed and showed her baby teeth to her Navu Masi and her mommy.

After thinking for sometime she finally gave into Raina's and her Masi's plead and quickly made her ready for the school because she knew Manik loves Raina way too much and he for sure will visit her. After sending her to the school Nandini finally made her way toward the small cupboard to select a suitable dress for herself tonight.

"Re choriyo" Amma called out walking inside with two shopping bags in her hand.

"Kaha thi aap Amma. Shubah se me aapko dhund rhi thi" Nandini complained as soon as she saw her "Accha ab aa hi gyi hai to mujhe batayiye ki me shaam ko yeh suit pehnu yaa fir yeh wala?" Nandini showed two old looking salwar suit which looked good but were not for party types.
