An Old Friend Hayes Grier

Chapter 9

*Fast forward 3 weeks*

***Delaney's POV***

Me and Hayes have been dating for a month now and we've had some amazing dates. We went stargazing, rollerskating, and to the movies. He's really sweet to me and i think that's my favorite quality about him. I wanna make him a dinner for our month- anniversary. I know it's pathetic but hey I don't care. I'll make his favorite meal and then go on a walk around downtown. 

I tell Nash my idea and he says he will let me cook the meal there because his parents wont be home. I'm doing it tomorrow night at 8:00 so he can hang with his friend at 3:00pm.

(Still Delaney POV)

I call Hayes to see if he'll be ready around 7:30 and come home to our "date". My outfit is

Curly hair

You checked your outfit and decided you look pretty good.  It's already 6:30 so I'm heading over to Nash's to cook.

After I finish cooking, all I do is wait.

*Hayes POV*

I'm out with my best friend, James, and it's already 7:30 so I should start walking home.

"Bye James. I'm heading home." I said

"No Hayes we have to stop by a party really quick please?" James asked

"Fine but only for 5 minutes promise?" I did not want to miss this date.

"Promise" James answered

When we arrived at a big house, I realized this was a party thrown by the most popular girl at school, Amanda. I really didn't like her but it's not like a hated her so I went in.  It was a BIG party. Before I knew it, I was dancing with my best guy friends having a great time. I remembered how I was supposed to do something but I couldn't remember.

"James, what was I supposed to do tonight?" I asked

"I dunno man." James said

A couple hours later I check the time. "dang, 1:30 I should get home."

I start walking out the door and just decide to walk home because it's only a 15 minute walk. I arrive at my front door and remember what tonight was. It was a date with Delaney.

**Delaney's POV***

Well it's 1:45 in the morning and Hayes forgot our date. Ok I think i'm just gonna go home now. Wow ok I guess I need time to recollect myself and determine how much i'm putting in this relationship and how much Hayes is. I guess it's kinda one-sided now. I get out of my deep thoughts and start walking to the front door. I open the door as a familiar face appears. Hayes.

'Where were you?" I was kinda pissed

"I was at a party with James?" Hayes said but came out more of a question.

"I'm leaving" I said as i ran out that door into the abyss of the outside.

"Delaney! Wait I can explain" I heard as i ran to god knows where.

Tears were coming out of my eyes faster than I was running. I was going to the only place I wanted to be right now. My little hideout that's in the middle of the forest with a beautiful waterfall. I didn't know if Hayes was still chasing me but I didn't care. I just needed some peace and quiet. I go sit on the grass while the waterfall makes the most amazing sound. I just ughhh! I'm so mad at him. He really goes to a party. Really Hayes really? Looks like Hayes can be single now. I heard a faint yell of my name and run behind a tree by the waterfall.
