Chapter 1

LILI'S POV

Another day. I really start to wonder for how long I can keep this up... Pretending I'm fine when really I'm not. Someday it'll just all come crashing down. I get up and out of bed when my alarm clock rings. Not that I really need an alarm clock because I don't sleep anyway. I put on my normal clothes, black shirt and black pants.

Everyone calls me emo but I'm just expressing my inner emotions, which are just a dark hole full of despair. As I looked in the mirror, I saw what I see every morning, a broken depressed girl with no life.

" Hurry up! You never do anything right so, get your butt down here and get to school " , my stepmom yelled up to me. As usual, instead of saying anything back, I just do as I'm told. That's what you're supposed to do, right?

Once at school, I actually get into class without getting beat up. What a surprise! Since it's the first day of 12th grade, we go straight to home room. As I walk in, all I see is people glaring at me. I guess I'm used to it. But today was different. One boy, in the back of the class, with sandy blonde hair and green eyes, was actually smiling at me. I found it strange since no one ever smiled at the emo girl. He pointed to the chair next to him to invite me to sit next to him. Eh.... It's better than sitting next to someone who hates me.
