special thank you to yetanotherwriter bc she made the new cover for The Twelfth Week and it's got some hella cool effect on it ;] [UPDATE: she made this one too]

In celebration of our latest #troylertumblrmeetup and Troye's birthday in like 2 days, I've done a thing. This little oneshot is based on troye-oakslay's splendiddly-umpshus little text post (hopefully linked) on Tumblr and I just had to write about it! I don't know if it's any good, but here it is...

---

My hands fumbled as I attempted to push my key into the door, causing me to drop it. "Fricking brilliant" I grumbled, angrily picking it back up and jamming the right key into the door.

Ok, so dropping my keys isn't anything to be annoyed about, but my day had been going terribly. To start off, I woke up late this morning with a banging headache from last night. Okay so that would've been fine, if I hadn't been over an hour late for brunch with some old friends. I turned up late and still smelling of last night's party, with only a couple of friends still left at the cafe we had decided to meet up at.

After the annoyed comments and a grumbled agreement to "meet up again soon", I decided to meet Korey at Starbucks, but he called about half an hour after I arrived to say he couldn't get there. So instead I got another coffee (to takeaway this time) and just as I stepped out the door, some woman came running into me. My coffee flew open and spilt all over me, burning my skin and ruining my clothes. She didn't even stop to say sorry.

Next up? Well, obviously I decide to head home and change clothes. I manage that, without too much of a problem, deciding to go for a jog to calm down after the morning. Just as I set off though, I noticed that some jerk had keyed my car, leaving a giant scratch the whole length of the vehicle, wow

I tried to ignore that little incident and carried on with my jog, making it back with only an accidental fall (causing a twisted ankle) and walking into another four people.

Back home, I managed to burn toast and scrambled eggs (who even does that), setting the smoke alarm off three times and causing two overly nosey neighbours to check up on me.

To top off my day, I tried to film, but just as I was about to turn the camera on, I dropped it and I'm pretty sure the lens broke. I didn't get time to check though because the doorbell rang with some guy stood there and the conversation went something like this:

"Sorry to bother you but is that your car?"

He pointed, I nodded.

"Um, well you can't see from here, but the back window is completely smashed in."

I didn't hear what he said next because I was instead legging it to my car, to find that the window was indeed smashed to pieces. It turns out nothing was taken, but this was certainly one of my worse days. The helpful man at the door seemed to have disappeared, which was probably good considering I felt like hitting something.

And so here I am, just back from the police station (who took their damn time, might I add) and stumbling into my apartment after one of the most miserable days I've had this year. I lock the door behind me and almost throw a punch at the wall but then one thought comes to mind: Troye.

I run for my laptop and start it up, waiting impatiently. Okay so maybe Troye had been at the back of mind all day. My brain had been thinking things like: If Troye had been here this wouldn't have happened. If Troye had been here he would cheer you up. If Troye had been here maybe everything would be okay.
