They all rose and ran after the Sister with Natalie pulling ahead instead of opening the gate vaulting over the fence then stopping eyes filled with tears at a horrifying sight.
It was a body, a child, laying in a pile of Autumn leaves covered in blood the other children were numb with shock and being hurriedly ushered away by weeping sisters dabbing their eyes with Habits of brown and grey. Natalie gave a scream of pure grief as she saw the black hair of her brother littered with feathers, the feathers black as shadows.
Sister Ruth was numb with shock as they lifted the body away to be examined Natalie was a mess and Ruth had her held against her chest she was sobbing into her apron.
When finally she had recovered enough the Mother Superior sent her with Sister Sofia Marie straight back to a spare guest room to clam down in. 'Well' The Mother said throwing her hands up in the air 'I don't know what to do, yesterday 2 strange children appear on our doorstep and no even by noon the next one is dead!!! I have not the faintest clue on what to do' her voice rising higher and higher before the sighed hunching over defeated 'The only thing we can do is help he police with their investigation and pray to God that the monster who committed this heinous act will be caught and punished if only for the sake of that poor tortured soul upstairs'.
And with that finishing sentence the Sisters all filed out with one question on all of their their minds 'Who would do such a thing?'
