For the next few days Natalie had been inconsolable and only emerging from the guest room with puffy-red eyes when the police insisted that she talk with them. Ruth's heart went out to the poor girl, she had lost so much in so short a time.
Natalie was in her room sobbing, tears streaking down olive cheeks, she thought to herself "How pathetic am I? just sitting here crying while my brothers dead, murdered by... no I won't even think about that now." "I have to do something.. anything would be better than lying here waiting for the police to find his killer.... Yes! that's it I'll set up my own investigation find that monster myself!"
Probably pushed on mostly by a need for closure and a healthy dose of grief driven madness she gathered up the remnants of her courage, pride and dignity stepped out of her room onto the soft carpeted floor. Clad only in a long white nightdress she moved silent as a wraith. Peeking outside an open window she saw the Autumn leaves swirling about in a hurricane of gold, brown and red.
