After I had my break-down, that resulted in a lot of broken items, and accepted the fact that I'm crazy, I went to sleep. When I woke again, Jack was there.

"Ahh, feels good to stretch again. How long was that? Like an ho-. Wer-were you crying?"

"No. I'm fine, Jack."

"Cupcake, what's wrong?"

Cupcake. Why does he keep calling me Cupcake?

"I'm fine Jack, seriously, let's just find this body maker of yours."

He looked concerned but I just brushed it off. He doesn't actually care, it's just an act.

"So I-um, don't know anything about computers." I tell Jack sheepishly, as I turn on my own computer.

"Emily. You have an echo-eye."

"Well it's not like I asked for it!" I yelled. Immediately feeling bad, it's not his fault that I was practically forced into it.
"Sorry." I apologized quickly.

"What do you mean you didn't ask for it? You can't get echo eyes without going under a -very expensive- procedure."

"I-um-didn't know."

"How do you not know that your going under for a very special surgery?"

"They told me that they'd fix me.. That it would be free as long as I let them fix me any way they wanted to. So, I agreed to it. I didn't want to die." I just told him. I didn't even try to hide it. It escaped my lips so easily, like I didn't even think twice about telling him.

"W-what are you talking about? Who hurt you?"

*Jack POV*

Who hurt her? Who gave her this without her permission? Why did she almost die?

I wanted to find whoever did those things and kill them. Fucking kill them. But I couldn't. Not as long as I was stuck in her head.

While she had me on pause for that little bit, I came to a crazy realization about something. I think I fell in love with this girl. So quickly. So innocently. I didn't feel the need to abandon her or use her. I wanted her to be happy and safe. I wanted to touch her, hold her when I know she's not okay, like now.

I would never admit to anyone that I loved someone, or even cared about anything. Especially to her. She hates me. But I can definitely see that she's got a thing for Rhys. Why? I have no idea. He's so awkward and skinny, I can barely stand him and he's technically my best friend.

So now that I know this, after a hard debate with myself, I just have to do whatever to make her happy. Even if that means to bring Rhys back.

"Okay.." I started, "Rhys knows a lot about computers. Let's find him."

"I don't know. Maybe we shouldn't."

"It'll be okay. Let's go. Come on, cupcake."

*Em POV*

We left the room. It was late now, so there were very few people out of their rooms.

"Where would he be?"

"Probably in his room."

'The guards have rooms? Huh, I didn't know that."

"He's not actually a Hyperion Guard, Emily."

"What?" I stopped for a second, snapping my head toward him.

"It was just an act so he could get down there to me. He kinda promised me before I died that he would somehow bring me back. Took him long enough, though."
