You would be amazed at how hard it is to walk when your exhausted.  There is a beach a coupleblocks away from the school.  I stop there and sit down on a bench.  I pull out my phone and call Alex.  She answers right away.

"Cassidy!" "Hey, Alex." "What's up?" "Not much, you?"  "Nothing really.  How was your first day of school?" "Boring.  And exhausting.  I didn't even make it half way home before I had to stop." "Where are you now?"  "The beach."  "Really?  I hear Flroida beaches are awesom!"  "There okay."

"Okay, what's up?" "Nothing."  "You can't lie to me.  What's wrong?"  "I'm  just tired.  I'll call you later, okay?"  "Yeah.  Just don't hurt yourself."  "Bye, Alex." "Bye."

I hang up.  There was no way I could tell her.  I can't tell anyone.  Not even Mike.  I can't ruin his life like that.  I watch the seagulls and remember that day on the beach.  I had the camera dad got me in my back pack.  I take a picture of me sitting on the bench looking depressed.  Then, I call Mike.

"Hey, Cassidy"  "Hey." "What's wrong?"  "Nothing."  "You can't lie to me.  We dated for over a month.  What's wrong?"  "I'm just exhausted."  "Just get home?"  "Nope, just got out of PE.  Still almost two miles away from home."  "That sucks."  "Yeah."  "I love you Cassidy." "Love you, too." "I got to go." "Bye." "Bye."

I love talking to Mike.  He seems to know when I want to quit talking.  I grab my stuff and continue on my way home.  I need to be taking the driver's test soon.  Dad just hasn't taken me.  Then again, he did forget about my birthday.

Just then, my phone starts to ring.  I answer.  "Hello." "Hey, sweetie.  I'm sorry I forgot about your birthday."  "It's okay."  "No, it's not.  You should have been taking your drivers test yesterday, not sitting in the passenger seat of a car all day.  Listen, I'm on my way home.  How about when I get home, I take you to go take that test."  "That would be great if I was at home."  "Where are you?"  "The park by the house.  I am exhausted.  I don't really want to take the test today."  "How about Saturday?"  "Sounds good to me."  "Do you want me to come pick you up?"  "Please." "I'm on my way."  "Thanks, bye."  "Bye."

Hiding the truth from dad was going to be hard.  I go sit down on a bench by the road and wait for dad to show up.
