7. Best friend reunited

When I woke up, I quickly bath and prepare my breakfast. I'm wearing a nice blue skinny jean, a comfort green shirt with a blazer on top and a red converse. After put on my make up, I walked to school because I'm late and I know I can't stop by at the gym for morning exercise. When I reached to school, I found that Maybelle was there waiting for me.

  “Hey Charlotte. Where have you been? I'm been waiting for you here forever!”

“You've been waiting for me?" I put a hand on my chest. "I'm sorry, I woke up late”

  “What class do you have now?”

“History”

“Good, we share the same subject.”

When we walked in the class, everyone was here. By everyone, I mean Luke Aaron was here too. He was there flirting with some girl and his friends. When he caught me looking at him, he smirked.

  “Charlotte? Charlotte? Hey, are you okay? You're not paying attention at all while teacher was teaching. Are you daydreaming or something?”

“Sorry, I think I'm just tired. I slept very late last night.”

“I best get going to my next class. Bye. See you at lunchtime.”

“Bye.”

As I was walking at the corridor, I bumped into Michael.

“Hi Charlotte. It's been a long time.” He said while scratching his head. I know him well. Everytime he feel  awkward, he will scratch his head.

“Hi too. Yeah it's been a long time.” I forced a smile.

“So, fancy go to a restaurant after school with me? Just for a little chat. I'm sure we have a lot to say”

  “Sure. I'll see you later.”

Then I walked away from him almost burst into tears.

It was finally lunchtime. On my way to canteen, I was pulled into an empty classroom almost violently. My heart pounding faster than ever. I instantly knew it was Luke.

  “Hey sweetheart.”

“Luke... what do you think you're doing!”

“ I want to meet you. Is it wrong?” I smiled when he said that with his sweet raspy voice while showed me his gorgeous smile along with a cute dimple on his cheek. Ahh, R.I.P my heart.

“Of course not. But it is wrong to pulled me like that. Now, if you excuse me, I have to meet my friend at canteen now. Bye.”

“Hey Maybelle.”

“I saw everything, Charlotte.”

“What do you mean?”

  “Let me ask you something. Do you like Luke Aaron?”

“What? Of course not! What makes you think so? ” I hesitated.

  “Then good. Do you know that he is a...”

“Gang leader. Yes I've been informed by him himself.”

“So you knew... But I still need to warn you. I know he's irresistible but you have to keep away from him because it seems like you're going to be his next target. And when you become his, you're not safe. Because remember, he is a gang leader. He has a lot of enemy, and he will dump you within a week anyway. The longest he had been so far is three weeks.

“Really? Anyway, thanks for the information. I'll keep that in mind” I sighed.

School has finally ended. Maybelle volunteered herself to sent me back home but I refuse because I have dinner with Michael. While I was waiting for him at school car park, he suddenly pop up in front of me.

“Sorry, I'm a bit late.”

“It's okay. I just got here anyway.”

“So are you ready?”

“Yes, I am.”

“Let's get into my car shall we?”

  “We shall.”

Michael opened the car door for me in a blink of an eye. We didn't say a word until we reached to the restaurant fifteen minutes later. Once again, he opened the door for me.
“Thank you.” I chuckled nervously.

“My pleasure.”

As we were in the restaurant, there was a waiter led us to our table. Looks like our table is reserved. I knew that it's hard to reserve a table here. You have to reserve a few days before . Michael ordered us some fancy food while I just look at him. At that moment, I just realized how much I miss his face, his body, his voice and how much I miss him. Suddenly, I felt a tear running down my cheek. Am I...crying?

“Charlotte... why are you crying?” He wiped my tear away with his thumb.

“I.... I don't know. I guess I just miss you. A lot. I have no idea we will end up like this.”

“It's okay. Hey do you still remember when we were twelve, you accidentally broke my mum's favorite flower vase while hanging out at my house. When my mum asked who did it, I said it was me. My mum was so mad that she gave me a punishment and you cried?”

“You don't deserve it. Really. It was me who broke that vase. You did nothing!”

“It's okay. I don't like seeing you being punished.  You are my best friend, Charlotte. And you always will.”

We kept on chatting about our time together that we didn't realize it was late. Michael gave me a lift home.

“Thanks for tonight.  I really have fun. I'll see you at school. Goodnight, Michael.”

  “You're welcome. Goodnight too, Charlotte.”

Before I slept, I checked my phone. I have two messages. One from Maybelle and another one is from Luke. I skipped Maybelle's message and open the message from Luke. It said

Goodnight, love. Get ready tomorrow because we're going out. Prepare yourself before 9 in the morning.

I smiled excitedly before opened Maybelle's message.

Oh my god, Charlotte! You've got to be kidding me. I saw you at the restaurant with Michael Hallaway earlier. Is there something you didn't tell me? Come on, we're best friend right? Best friend will tell each other everything ;)

After reading Maybelle's message, I replied her

Don't worry, I'll fill you everythig at school ok?
