Unwanted. Used. Betrayed.
Those three words resemble the emotions I am feeling right now. Siddharth doesn't want me - he loves Divaani. The only reason he is being all romantic is just for my body. Now that Divaani is back, he will leave me as soon as he can. It's better to leave that monster than face the shame of getting kicked out.
Breaking my train of thoughts, I receive a text.
I grab my phone from the kitchen counter to see who it is from.
Armit : Hey where are you? Staff meeting? Remember?
Crap! I forget all about the staff meetig due to the mishap with Divaani. I shoot back a text telling Armit that I'll be there 'in a sec'.
I race upstairs into Siddharth's room to grab my clothes. Draping a saree would take way too long now that I am already late, hence I pop on a long sleeve baby pink top, pencil skirt, nude heels, and race out the door.
After a tense 30 minutes, I arrive at school. I check the time, only to know that the staff meeting has finished.
"Hey late comer" jokes Armit when I arrive in the classroom
"No time for jokes. Can't you see I'm exhausted" I pant playfully tapping his head
"What is the excuse today?" He smiles
"Just family issues" I sigh resting my head
"Mmmm. Sucks getting married ayee" He laughs
"I would usually disagree, but your right. Life would've been so much easier if I didn't married to Siddharth" I sigh
"If you need someone to talk to, I'm always here for you" He says noticing my sadness
"Thanks Armit. It means a lot. Things have just been so... so.. messed up recently. I honestly don't even know what to do" I moan clutching my hair
"Whats going on?" He whispers
"It's a long story" I sigh
"Well....we've got 40 mins exactly till the kids come. Plenty of time" Armit says
With that I tell Armit my whole story. From Alia, to Divaani, I tell him everything. I am not usually the type of person to pour their heart out to someone, but I am helpless. Aside from Keerthi, nobody knows about my pain. Even with Keerthi, she is such a sweet girl, and i want to trust her, however the thought of her being Siddharth's cousins restrains me from telling her all the crap going on with my marriage.
"One last thing. I have embedded trust in you that you won't tell anyone" I say
"Nisha. I won't tell anyone. I promise" He whispers
"Thank you" I sob
"Don't cry Nisha. Everything will be fine. We will surely figure something out" He says stroking my hair
"You sure" I mutter
"Yes Nisha. Don't worry. I'll help get you out of that hellhole as soon as possible. Remember one thing Nisha, if you ever need anyone to talk to, I'm always here for you" Armit whispers hugging me
"It means a lot" I sob
"You want to leave him right?" Armit questions
"Yes. I've honestly had enough.I am sick of bearing all the hardships for my families sake, I need to think of myself for once" I say
"You're completely right" Armit nods
The rest of the day went well I guess. The students are always a delight.
