“Will you be my boyfriend?”

“In your dreams,” scoffs Kit. His eyeball seems to move on their own and rolls them for a hundredth time. It’s starting to get exhausting.

Ming has this pout on his lips again and Kit couldn’t help but look away. He likes it secretly, when Ming looks at him like that. Ming may look all playful and easygoing but he can see something in Ming’s eyes that always makes him look away.

Why is this so hard? He thinks. It’s the fifth time Ming asked him to be his boyfriend after winning the Moon pageant and every time his junior asks, his mouth gets the better of him and declines Ming.

“Go back to your dorm, I have some studying to do,” says Kit. He sees Ming’s shoulders drop with a sigh.

“Alright P’,” with a beep of his car, Ming opens the door and says, “I won’t stop asking you until you say yes,” his smile is back again. It irritates Kit for some reason, “Reply to my LINE later will you?”

“Whatever,” he shakes his head and turns towards his building.

“Good night Kit Kat!”

Kit can’t help but smile a little. He takes a peak and sees Ming’s car driving off. It’s been already a few weeks since he allowed Ming to chase him. It’s kind of weird in the beginning, he’s used to do the chasing after all, but Ming’s enthusiasm and persistence was somehow, admittedly, endearing. And Ming is starting to grow on him like the fungi that he is.

That night, before he goes to bed, Ming messages him.

Will you be my boyfriend? It reads.

With a roll of his eyes, Kit replies almost instantly. No

And with a hesitant poise of his fingers, he types, Go to sleep. See you tomorrow.

Ming replies eagerly, :D

Good night, P’! Think of me.

And just like that, Kit’s night is made.
