Professor Auntie is yammering again about discipline, respect, and being on time when the three of them got late for her class. It’s Phana’s fault to begin with. They had to go to the Science department because Phana kept some of Wayo’s notes – Kit doesn’t want to know why, and had to deliver it back. It’s a good thing Ming wasn’t there or they’d be later than they were.

    Kit is taking notes like the diligent student that he is while Phana is busy texting. He can’t help but roll his eyes. Those two are sickeningly in love. He keeps on elbowing Phana subtly because Professor Auntie keeps on eyeing the three of them like it’s her personal mission to find an excuse to be angry.

    Phana gets into trouble. Again.

After class they head their usual table on the ground floor as they wait for their next class. Kit gets a text. It’s from Ming.

I didn’t get to see you earlier! ☹

He scoffs and replies, you just saw me last night.

But Yo got to see P’Pha. I didn’t get to see you.

Those two are idiots. He types.

Kit bites his lips to keep himself from smiling.

“Loverboy seems busy,” Kit looks up. It’s Beam with his all knowing smile. He hates him sometimes.

“How’s your husband doing?” he fires back. It shuts Beam right away.

Same place tonight? A text from Ming.

If I eat any more noodles I’ll get fat. He replies.

Don’t worry, P’! I’ll still love you even if you get a little fluffy.

Kit sighs. He doesn’t know what to do with Ming when he gets like this.

Sometimes it’s okay, like this, through texts where Ming can’t see how easily flustered he gets whenever Ming gets sweet like this. Kit has never imagined that a day would come where he’ll like a guy – and yes he’s man enough to admit that he likes Ming, he just doesn’t like to say it openly. And outside his grumpy self he really does like Ming a little more than he expected.

He doesn’t know what to reply so Kit just lets it be.
