Chapter 1: Horrible week

   I sent a text to my best friend Taylor, while watching tv. ('Wow, this is really boring. Friday night and I am stuck here with my dad. This keeps getting better and better!'.) ''I wish I could move out! it's so boring, and He is to nice. I wonder if he even cares'' I said to myself quietly. My dad had just walked around the corner when I said that. He was in a great mood. ''What's that Kristen''? He said. I replied. ''Oh nothing''. My friend Taylor decided to call. She had told me that she was really bored too and that I should hang out. It sounded like a good idea, so I decided to go ask. ''Hey dad can I go see Taylor?'' He replied in a good mood. ''Well sure, did you clean your room like I asked pumpkin''? I replied with a heavy sigh. ''Yes, dad. Thanks, talk to you later'' ...'' Okay, love-''. I cut him off as soon as I slammed the door shut.

       I walked myself into Taylor's room. As soon as I walked in I gave another heavy sigh. She replied confused, ''What happened Kristen?'' I replied to her in a agervated and annoyed tone. ''Nothing, it's just my dad. He is always up my case. '' She gave me a weird look and said, ''What do you mean?'' ........''Well it's just....It's just that I wish I had my mom instead, she cared more.'' She replied in a confused tone, ''Isn't that a bad thing, you know, if your mom cared more?'' I replied as if I knew everything. ''Sometimes, but she always knew everything. She always knew what to say, and how to make me feel better....And now that she is gone...It is really hard just to have a dad. I just want my mom instead. Why her?'' I started tearing up. I just miss her so much ever since she passed from cancer. It kind of runs in our family. She replied as if she felt so bad for me. ''It's okay, everything happens for a reason'' I started to loose it and I started bursting out crying and raised my voice alittle. ''Everything happens for a reason?! That is just what people say when they need some cheering up. It's not real life! Why does my life have to be like this?!'' She started to almost cry herself just seeing me like this. She got tears in her eyes and said ''Look, I lost my best friend when I was 8. Now all I have is you, I know how you feel. But I look at the bright side to everything, she is in a better place now. And that's all that matters.'' I started to calm down and take deap breaths, ''Your right. I just really need her. Well, I gadda go now. Bye''

       ''Hey pumpkin how was that?'' I walked straight pass my dad and had a sad look on my face. I went to my room and checked my messages. I got a message From Taylor as soon as I left say. ''Kristen, remember what I told you.'' I had a picture of my mom in the corner of my room in a picture frame. I slowly approached taking big sighs. It was a picture of us right before she died. This was the only thing I have left of her.
