It was quite strange, you know? One minute I'm sitting at the bar next to my friend, Gray Fullbuster, and the next there's this girl right next to me.
God, was she beautiful.
I knew she was the one for me just by one glance. I wasn't the type to love someone romantically, or to even want to go on a date, most importantly, I'm still a virgin.
Gray tapped me on the shoulder, "Natsu... you've been staring at the girl for quite some time.. is everything alright?"
I quickly snapped out of my stance. Shit. I was staring at this beautiful girl, and now I've probably freaked her the fuck out. "Yeah.. I'm fine.." I spoke in a grumpy tone and slowly blinked, turning to face Gray and spoke in a whisper type tone, "She's really beautiful.. I got carried away looking at her."
She didn't seem to intentionally sit by me, yes, because all the other stools were taken. Honestly, if they weren't, she'd be gone. Who wouldn't freak out over a pink haired idiot like me, turn the other direction, and run?
Gray starting laughing. Really loudly. The blonde girl who I'd been staring at, which was located right next to my seat glanced over at Gray and I. I gulped almost immediately. Shit shit shit. She's looking over here. Maybe she wants to converse.
Gray was banging on his chest, laughing so hard he was choking. No idea why.
"Sir.. are you alright? People are staring..!" the blonde whisper yelled in Gray and I's direction. I snapped out of my trance and glanced over at Gray. He almost immediately stopped as he heard the same angelic voice that I heard.
Gray nodded his head, stating that he was perfectly fine. I glanced over at the blonde and smiled a toothy smile to reassure her.
She smiled back.
It was so adorable.. my heart started beating so quickly as soon as she did. I probably look like a really big loser right now but.. oh well.. she was so fucking cute.
I blinked slowly and extended a hand, trying my best not to seem awkward and start a conversation with the blonde. She gently placed her hand in mine and shook hands with me.
I stared into her eyes before blushing most likely a deep shade of red. "I-I'm Natsu.." I stuttered and looked down for a bit before looking back up into her big, round, pretty sure they were sparkling, brown eyes.
The girl tilted her head and smiled, as if she had a bright happy aura around her. "I'm Lucy, nice to meet you, Natsu." She spoke in that angelic voice of hers as she stared right at me. I got really nervous and squeezed my eyes shut for a good second. "Are you okay..? Your hand is kind of sweaty," the girl, known as Lucy, tilted her head at me once again and I blushed lightly. "Do you have a fever?" she questioned me again.
I shook my head in response. "Just a bit nervous, that's all. I've never really been this close or talked to a girl before.." I mumbled softly, not realizing what i had said until 2 seconds later. "I-I mean uh.. I meant-" I stuttered once again, shaking almost, before the blonde beauty interrupted me.
"Really..? You seem like a really sweet and handsome guy.. I thought you were taken actually.." Lucy giggled softly in response. My eyes widened at the angelic noise. It was angelic, and absolutely adorable. My face felt hot after she did, and then I hid my red face with my hands.
"S-Sorry... your giggle is really cute.. you're really cute.." I said into my hands while shutting my eyes tightly. I peeked between my fingers at the blonde and she was blushing! She was blushing because of my comment.. Then, theres was this really obnoxious groaning noise, cutting off my train of thought and gaze at the blonde, straight to Gray Fullbastard.
"Natsu... would you be quiet already you suck at flirting!" Gray groaned during his speech and slammed his fist on the table causing Lucy to jump a bit. "Hey you! Another shot of whatever the fuck this was please??"
"Sir.. you're going to have to be more specific.." The bartender spoke to ice princess an I covered my mouth trying my best not to laugh. Lucy looked the same as I did also.
Gray was yelling by this point and I was brave enough to ask Lucy to come with me outside, and she surprisingly said she would like to.
"Your friend.. is really loud.." At this point, Lucy was definitely not holding in her laughs. The way she laughed was truly adorable, and it made me want to ruffle her blonde hair and kiss her head as if she were a little kid.
"Yeah.. He's the best.." I said in an annoyed, sarcastic tone, which made Lucy go into another fit of giggles. No one ever really laughed at my jokes, and seeing her laugh made me smile a big toothy grin. "What? I mean Gray is the best guy in Magnolia! He strips, all the time, in public! And makes fun of me! Who would've though.." I went on and on about how awful Gray was, and it made Lucy laugh enough that she had to sit down.
"You guys are really funny.. I'm glad I met the two of you tonight.." Lucy smiled shyly and looked straight into my eyes, which caused me to blush for about the 700th time tonight. I definitely had feelings for this girl, and I wish the feelings could be mutual.
"Hey Lucy.. I'm glad I met you too. You seem like you could become one of my closest friends, not just some girl I met at a bar.. which that's never happened before! It's actually my 21st birthday.. This is my first time going to a bar.." I looked down at my feet, feeling as if I just messed up totally.
"Oh.. Really?! How come you didn't tell me! Happy birthday Natsu!" Lucy smiled brightly while beaming and wrapped her arms around me in a tight hug. My heart was racing.. I felt really safe then. In this girls arms, who I had just met. I slowly wrapped my arms securely back around her.
"A-ah.. Thank you.." I smiled and spoke softly, not wanting to let her go just then. I held her in my arms a bit longer, and I think she was totally okay with it. With our chests pressed together, our hearts were both beating really fast. "Hey Lucy.. I know we just met and all.. but I think I really have what people call a 'crush' on you.." I confessed, my face turning a bright red before I closed my eyes tightly, waiting for a response but not getting my hopes up.
"I feel the same," Lucy admitted in a gentle tone and pulled away from the embrace and smiled at me. "You're really an awesome, sweet, and gentle guy. Would you like to go on a date? I know it's usually where the guy asks the girl, but I thought I'd change it up a bit."
My eyes widened and I looked straight back at her while quickly nodding. "Yes! Of course we can go on a date. I'd love to be closer to you." I smiled at her before pressing my lips against hers softly.
Lucy kissed me back but we didn't make out like how movie scenes usually go. We sat there until about 2 a.m., and that's when Gray was kicked out of the bar. He was definitely knocked out cold, so I unfortunately had to bid my goodbyes to Lucy and carry the dead weight back home.
Lucy, This girl, was truly perfect in my eyes.
