Ash's point of view
I opened my eyes and realized that I was in a hospital. Laura was in Jaime's arms and Mike was next to me. Wait. Pierce the Veil was in here? Laura was in Jaime's arms? I got confused and let out a sigh. Mike was looking at me strangely.
"Good to see that you are okay." he whispered. I realized what was happening now. They had saved me. I sat up and the doctor walked in.
"You can go whenever you are ready. I have a prescription for you." the doctor said as he handed me a piece of paper.
"Oh, I'm already on anti-depressants. I don't need this." I told him kindly.
"Okay. Just make sure you take them. We don't need more scars now do we?" he said as he gave me a look. I felt the band's eyes bore into me. Laura came up to me when the doctor had left and grabbed my wrists.
"I don't see any cuts." she said plainly. She should know that I don't cut my wrists. Idiot.
"Why would I cut where you could see?" I snarled as I pulled my arms away from her. She gave me a hurt look and hugged me.
"I'm trying to help." she whispered. And then I realized she was trying to keep me from having to explain myself to the band. They were still looking at me.
"So uh thanks. But, I uh-what time is it?" I said, flustered. I looked over at a clock and saw that it was 2 a.m.
"Oh no. I gotta go. Like now. I'm gonna get beaten so bad for this." I whispered the last sentence under my breath. Mike must have heard me because he gave me a curious look and turned to Vic.
"Can she stay? Please? We can't let her go get beaten." he said. How did he know they hit me? Then Vic turned to Laura and she nodded excitedly. We left the hospital and went back to the bus. There, I sat next to Mike outside. He was getting ready to smoke a joint.
"Where the fuck is my lighter?" he yelled at Tony and Jaime.
"I don't know. Go look for it, whiskey hands." Tony shot at him. Mike just looked frustrated and I pulled out my lighter and tossed it to him. He caught it and looked up at me curiously. I didn't like that look.
"Thanks. So uh, Josh is in the hospital. He got a broken arm and black eye." he explained to me. I was relieved to hear that he wouldn't bother me.
"Mikey here beat his ass." Vic said coming out of the bus. Mike just glared at Vic and Laura came out and sat next to me. I pulled out my cigarettes and lit one for her before lighting my own. Soon the whole band was outside joking around. I fell asleep leaning on Laura and later felt someone pick me up. Thinking it was Laura, I snuggled up against her. Then I heard Mike laugh as he carried me into the bus and put me in his bunk. I could tell it was his, it smelled like whiskey.
~Mike's point of view~
Ash had fallen asleep so I carried her into the bus and put her in my bunk. She just let me cover her up and her breathing showed that she was asleep. She was so beautiful. Her hair was the perfect shade of turquoise. I went back to the front of the bus where everyone now was.
"You know, she wouldn't mind someone in there with her." Laura said, teasing me.
"No, I'm okay on the couch." I said and Vic snapped his head at me.
"What? My brother isn't known to turn down the chance of a woman." he said sarcastically. It was true, I didn't really ever refuse to sleep with a girl. But she was different, I didn't want to do that to her.
"Shut up. Besides, didn't Josh say she was a slut? Not to be mean but, I don't want a used girl." I said, looking away. Laura glared at me.
"She's a virgin." she said, I felt her gaze intensify.
"Okay, okay. But if that's the case, I'm not taking that from her. She's looks like she's what? 14?" I asked.
"17" Laura corrected. Shit. I wouldn't have guessed that from someone of her looks. Her skin was too pale to be that old. She looked only to be in her early teens. But I still won't let myself take that innocence from her. Everyone decided to go to sleep around 3. I had just settled down on the couch when I heard someone screaming. I rushed to the bunks and saw Laura beside Ash. Ash was crying and yelling about something. I assumed she was dreaming about her parents beating her. Laura shook her and she woke up. But she didn't grab Laura like I thought she would. She grabbed me and began crying into my neck. I just held her, trying to soothe her. I picked her up and went to the couch and sat with her. She eventually cried herself to sleep in my arms. Not once trying to explain what the dream had been. But I didn't care, she was here, in my arms, and I was not going to let her go.
