IT WAS COLD.
Scratch that-- it was freezing, and Jimin felt like he was about to die.
He huddled deeper in the blankets, curling himself so that only his head poked out of the bundle. With a small sneeze-- or, at least, he hoped it was small-- Jimin blinked the sleep out of his eyes and checked the time. 6:55 AM.
Sigh. Today was the one day they were off and able to sleep in. But no. It just had to freeze.
It is pretty, though. Jimin couldn't help but admire the falling snowflakes, the frost on the windows, the appearance of the first snow gently dusting the ground like powdered sugar atop a cake--
Achoo!
"So fucking cold," Jimin grumbled under his breath. He wanted nothing more than warmth-- maybe the world could just skip winter?
Or you could just grow a pair and call Yoongi. The though quickly fluttered by in his mind, and Jimin fantasized about being in his boyfriend's arms, cuddling the entire day, and, most of all, being warm.
No. The two of them had only started dating fairly recently, and Jimin knew that Yoongi wasn't too big on grand displays of affection. Not to mention, Yoongi loved his sleep. He'd kill if someone didn't let him sleep in today, boyfriend or not.
With no other choice than to remain cold, Jimin decided to watch some Netflix. Maybe a movie or a good show will distract me from the cold, he reasoned out as he scrolled through, eventually tapping on one of his favorite shows.
The show began to play, and Jimin found himself immersed in the intro storyline. Until--
"Doctor Grey--"
Achoo!
"-- stats and send--"
Achoo!
"-- ICU--"
Jimin threw his phone as he sneezed for the third time in ten seconds. "Fucking ridiculous," he muttered. "Can't even watch a show if I wanted to."
Jimin was ready to swallow his pride and text his human furnace of a boyfriend when he realized that his phone was across the room. Whimpering at the thought of leaving his bed to get it, he borrowed deeper in himself, trying to salvage any body heat.
It's okay, I'll just get hypothermia and die.
I'd rather die in a fire, though. At least I wouldn't be too cold. Scratch that, I wouldn't be cold at all.
Wait, am I really fantasizing about death by fire?
Jimin laughed at the sheer ridiculousness of it. He couldn't help it-- the more dramatic he realized he was being, the harder he laughed--
--the doorknob moved.
Jimin's head snapped up as his door slowly opened. With his heart pounding, he began looking for a weapon, or an exit. Snow be damned, if there's a ghost I'm going to jump out of the fucking window--
Jimin exhaled in relief as he saw someone enter his room. "Yoongi."
Yoongi whined in response, and Jimin couldn't help but feel guilty at how his boyfriend's rest was cut short because of him.
Yoongi sleepily padded his way to Jimin's bed, falling on the covers.
"Babe, you're gonna freeze," Jimin whispered, struggling to get Yoongi under the blankets, eventually successful. "Achoo!"
Yoongi slowly blinked as his body struggled between being awake or falling asleep. Wordlessly, he stroked Jimin's face, murmuring his first words of the day. "You're cold."
Jimin nodded miserably. Yoongi held Jimin's hands, bringing them to his own warm cheeks. "Why didn't you call me?"
"It's our only day off...you needed the rest..."
"I'll lose some sleep so that you're okay," Yoongi whispered, voice raspy with sleep, and Jimin's heart swelled. "You matter more."
Jimin nodded. Yoongi pulled Jimin by his waist. "C'mere."
And as Jimin snuggled deeper into Yoongi's chest, as Yoongi's thumbs idly traced circles over his hips and his back, as Yoongi fell back asleep, his hot breath fanning over Jimin and tickling his breath, Jimin felt safe and happy and, most importantly, warm.
Drowsiness came over Jimin, and his eyes slowly drooped shut. But before he fell completely asleep, when his brain wasn't active but his heart was, beating quickly and filled with joy, he
drowsily mumbled. "I love you, Yoongi."And though Yoongi was presumed to be asleep, with his face in Jimin's hair and his arms wrapped around the younger with only the utmost care, he couldn't help but reply.
"I love you, Jimin."
