TAMED XXIX - HER DION'S ERA

A RAY of sunlight penetrating the window blinds woke me from a restful slumber. Lumabas ako at naglibot para hanapin si Troy, nadatnan ko siyang nakabulagta sa tabi ng dagat kung saan kami nag-inom kagabi.

"Chill, I'm still alive. Hindi ko na napansing nakatulog ako dito kagabi. I used to sleep here like this even before," he said this as he spread his huge arms and combed his hair with his fingers.

"And how sure are you na safe ka rito sa labas? Paano kung tinangay ka ng sea montsers dito?"

"Sea monsters? Like what? mythical mermaids? Bizarre sharks? Monstrous whales?"

Napairap ako. "Baka lobster, Troy."

"Iyong kasama mo, how is she? Did you guys sleep well last night?"

All of a sudden, my throat felt really rough like sandpaper.

"Why are you blushing?"

Nag-kiss lang naman kami pagkatapos naming mag-away na parang aso at pusa. We were both pretty drunk last night, but we were still aware enough to realize that we had shared some seriously hot kisses, more than once.

"W-what are you doing?" mariing tanong ng magandang propesora.

Nahuli ako sa akto kakatitig sa kanya habang siya ay tulog, iyon na lang ang ginawa ko buong oras pagbalik namin dito sa cottage.

"I'm watching." Tumikhim ako, desididong magpalusot pa. She stared at the flat-screen TV in front of me with bloodshot eyes before locking eyes with me.

"How long have you been watching TV?"

"H-ha? Half an hour," pagsisinungaling ko, sana makalusot.

Naupo siya at pinagmasdan ako. Bakit ba muna ang ganda niya kahit bagong gising?

"Since when did my face become your new concept of TV?" She gave me a quick smirk before raising her eyebrows and rubbing her eyes.

"Miss Rhio, umagang-umaga ang grumpy mo." Tumingin ako sa screen ng TV at binuksan 'yon. Nakapagtataka dahil hindi gumagana 'yong remote control, 'yon pala sa propesora ko tinututok. Nakakahiya na, promise!

"Oh, how thrilling. I caught my student staring at my face. Should we all break out the confetti and party hats now?"

"I don't think we need to go that far, but perhaps you could consider taking it as a compliment that your student finds you captivating enough to stare at, ma'am."

Nahihiya pa rin ako, akala ko malandi lang ako kagabi dahil sa beer pero tingin ko ganito na talaga ako pagdating sa kanya. Iiwan ko na sana siya pero bumagsak lamang ito pabalik sa couch nang subukan niya ring tumayo. Nag-aalala ko siyang tinulungan dahil muntik pa itong mahulog.
