The room was fairly warm, the covers enveloped the young girl in an added layer of warmth. Her cold skin was regaining color, that's a good sign. The male walked over to the bed where she had been placed earlier and put a warm hand on her forehead checking her temperature; she seemed okay enough to eat. He shook her shoulder lightly, just enough to wake her up.
She had stirred slightly, whimpering before opening her eyes to revel beautiful sapphires that showed signs of confusion and slight fear.
"How do you feel?"
The girl shivered and opened her mouth to respond, her voice came out cracked and hoarse.
"sick, who are you? Where a-am I?"
the male held the plate of food extended out towards the shivering girl, she looked at it hesitantly looking at the male for any sign of danger. She saw none and took the plate into her small hands carefully placing it into her lap.
"I'm Eyeless Jack, you can call me whatever you want. You are safe, at the mansion"
her eyes widened.
"m-mansion?!"|
The male, now known as Jack, chuckled at the girl's amazed response. He noticed that she hadn't yet touched her food, and insisted that she do so, so that she could get her energy up and get to feeling better.
"Yes, a mansion. A mansion full of many other people like myself, and a young girl right around your age. Her name is Sally, she has been waiting to meet you. What is your name?"
"I'm Echo! Who is Sally, what is she like? Does everyone here wear masks like yours?"
Echo had many questions that were soon to be answered by Jack, she was such a curious girl, a lively girl.
"Sally is just like you, she was once scared and all alone with someone that hurt her. we took her in and made her part of our family and now she is happy; there is just one thing though, she needs someone to play with. Do you think you can do that Echo?"
"Yeah, I sure can! I've never had anyone to play with before!"
The brunette girl giggled and bounced on the bed, before whimpering slightly.
"What's wrong Echo?"
Tears welled up in the sapphire eyes of the delicate girl as she looked up at jack.
"My feets hurt!"
"Let me see"
Echo sat on the edge of the bed and extended her leg out toward Jack, he took a look and seen cuts and blood all over her feet; he assumed she must have collected them from running through the forest barefoot.
"Well Echo, let's take you to doctor smiley"
