There was once a young prince, handsome and dashing in all his glory. Wherever he went, men and women of all ages swooned for him as he struts in his confident gait. But not only does he have the physical beauty to brag about, his heart is made of gold and his eloquence and intelligence was a subject of envy throughout the whole kingdom.

All the young women his age swore they'd never marry a man in lesser quality than this young prince. And though many were these women who lined up to be noticed by him, his heart only belonged to the one woman that made the best cakes in the kingdom.

There was a saying that a way to a man's heart is through his stomach, and that was a truth for him actually, for she made the most luscious baked goods that melted in his mouth and he always craved for more. But the real truth of why his heart beat for her the most is because of her pure beauty from the inside out. Her kindness was a match for him and she had an excellence of her own that was like no other that which attracted him.

And as any fairytale ending would go, the young prince and the love of his life lived happily ever after.

The end...right?

Unfortunately, fairytales are the most skewed view of reality.

To Kim Seokjin, how he wished this bedtime story his mother always narrated to him when he was still a growing child became his own.

He grew up handsome, yes. Heart of gold, check! Intelligence, he had that.

Just maybe except the 'men and women of all ages swooned for him' and the lack of a confident gait.

He was living the awkward life, my fellow ladies and gentlemen.

He was kind, that was sure, but he just wasn't the best in keeping a huge circle of friends.

Sometimes (most of the times), he stutters a lot at the contact of his other female classmates in high school, they...couldn't quite keep up a solid conversation with him because.

Majority of his male high school peers didn't have the patience for him. With the exception of his two best friends that he grew up with who understood and loved him for who he was despite his flaws.

But as soon as he stepped into college, he faces himself in the mirror and gives himself a pep talk that he shouldn't anymore be the foolish big lug that he is.

He starts with his physical appearance, doing tiny work outs inside his room during the summer before college, but ends up tripping on himself because he couldn't control his body properly. But he never gave up.

He was dead determined on this.

It paid off because this time, a few young women who passed by him were stunned with his presence.

He was the definition of a dashing college poster boy whose physique exuded that of a balanced and healthy well-being.

That was until he talked to them.

His social skills, well...it needed improvement. A huge one.

But that's okay! He's getting there...later!

Seriously, later.

Because in his first period of his first day in university, an introduction to the culinary arts, there was only a quarter of male in his section and the third of the population were all female.

Could it have been possible that this was all orchestrated for him? A training of his social skills and the sorts?

Probably.

He wasn't so much a believer of coincidences anyway so he's going to make or break this phase of his life.

He's gonna do himself a favor and take a step up in his social skills.

By starting with the fun-sized girl with a wavy black hair who entered the classroom just in time before the door closed and took a seat beside him.

Well, there was no other vacant seat beside him except to his left as he was situated by a far corner of the room. (Way to go for Social Skills Development 101: Step One.)

So...where does he start now?

He discreetly observes her from the corner of his eyes and she was tying her hair to the back, adjusting herself in her seat comfortably that kind of entertained him for some reason, and also kinda distracted him that he full on stared at her.

Suddenly, the bedtime story his mother told him came to mind, and he was also missing the last part of the fairytale (that he wished was his reality now).

The woman that his heart belonged to – the one who made luscious mouth melting desserts.

But...it was still too early to think of that, what the heck Kim Seokjin!

So he wondered too, if she was also kind and intelligent.

Out of the blue, he smacked his cheek a little too hard for thinking of such things causing him to let out a small yelp, which made the girl beside him turn her head in worry over him and asking him if he was okay.

And maybe she could be the potential woman his heart might belong to.

Potential.
