"My Lord, they will be here in a matter of weeks or about a month! They managed to strengthen their numbers. How are we suppose to stop them? Soon they will have more in numbers. Where did they even find people to join their army?" my gaze landed on the King sitting on the throne.

For the kingdom, the war came at a wrong time. The King started to help build more farm land and making the streets safer for his people. He also has other hopes to help his people have better lives. That's probably why he has not thought about growing his army. Then again the army is one of the best in the land.

"Don't worry Deryk. I do have a plan which I will tell you in due time. The first thing I need you to do for me is to take my daughter away from here," he arose from the throne. The King's movements were slow while each footstep sounded like heavy thoughts were running through his mind. After stepping down to stand beside me, the King gently placed his right hand on my left shoulder. This was a sigh of great respect. I have only seen this done with one other person.

"Are you sure you want me to do this? I know you believe in the prophecy but we have no clue if it's true," the King stared at the floor lost in thought. A sigh escaped his lips letting me know that he understood. I placed my right hand on his hand letting him know that I will always be there for him.

"I'm sure about this," the King looked up from the floor towards the two guards standing on either side of the main entrance of the Great Hall. He gave a nod and the double doors swung open. Once opened, the Queen walked in while her maroon dress flowed around her. While looking down at the bundle in her arms, tears were clearly visible when she glided closer. Once she stopped in front of us, I noticed the small baby in the bundle of cloth.

"It will be my honor to take her somewhere safe," the Queen handed the small child over to me. I carefully took her in my arms holding her close. I looked down at the baby thinking about how I'm responsible for the future of this kingdom. It will be a hard journey for both of us. Once I get her to a small village that I have in mind, I know they will protect her.

I let her parents say their last goodbyes to their daughter not knowing if they will ever see her again. Once done, I bowed to the King. Then I turned to face the Queen so I could bow to her. I walked swiftly towards the double doors. After exiting the Great Hall, I kept turning down corridor after corridor. I eventually found the door that I was searching for because there stood two guards on either side of the door. Wishing me luck, the guards let the door open so I can head straight to the stables.
