Chapter 1

(May 25, 2000)

"Wake up your highness! Today is a very special day" Nanny says while she opens up the curtains and tries to wake me up.

"Can I stay in bed instead nanny?" I said as I rub my very very sleepy eyes

"No honey you have to get up! It's your recital today! Your parents are gonna be there"

I stumbled up as nanny finished her sentence. Yay! My parents are gonna see me perform today!

(At the arena)

It is now my turn to play the violin in front of all the people. I'm gonna do my best today because mommy and daddy are going to watch me.

I started playing the first verse of Torn as I search my parent's faces at the crowd. I couldn't find them. Maybe because there are thousand of people in this arena.

As I finished the song the crowd gave me a round of applause and I gave my bow and went directly into the dressing room.

"That was a very splendid performance your highness! Good job" Mr. Higgins (one of my many many body guards) told me as I approached them.

"Where is mommy and daddy?" I asked

"Oh honey they gave me a call and told me that they couldn't make it. There has been a problem about the parliament of Ainova and the both of them should attend the urgent meeting. But I recorded your performance for them to be able to catch up" Mr. Higgins said.

Well my parents are the rulers of Ainova so what would I expect? I just wished they'd find time for me. We live in one palace but they hardly got any time for me.

I am so sad. Yes I am the princess of Ainova. I always get what I want. But It seems like my parent's couldn't be here for me. I mean they've missed my first ever recital. I wouldn't be surprised if I graduate college without them attending the ceremony.

This is the saddest day ever. What shall I do for them to notice me?

Until I had the brightest Idea ever.... I'm going to sneak out of the palace. Maybe that way, they'll be able to find me.
