Draco Malfoy sighed and turned on a dragon hide covered heel, away from the two hormone infected Ravenclaws he had threatened at wand point back to their dormitory. Finally, his headboy night patrol was over. Finally he could retire to the Slytherin common room, where a bottle of firewiskey and his school books awaited him. He had to study for his N.E.W.T.S. The silence of the corridor was broken as an unidentifiable mass crashed through the stained glass window of Helga Hufflepuff, and rolled to the stone floor. Draco jumped back, wand at the ready. The mass didn't move. He squinted in the dim light, still not able to make out what lay before him. "Lumos Maxima" He muttered, aiming his brightly lit wand at the mass as it began to stir. Slowly it rose, until it formed a very tall, lithe man. Draco eyed the man's black and green leather clothing, as he smoothed back long black hair. Upon noticing Draco, ice met steel. The two men stared hard at one another, neither backing down from the other's cold eyes. Breaking the silence, but not his gaze, Draco arched an eyebrow "Can I help you, sir?" He asked in a bored tone. The man's eyes trailed down Draco's robes, his sharp features relaxing somewhat upon falling to his green and silver tie and serpent crest. "Perhaps." He replied, glancing at Draco's aimed wand "I mean you no harm, you can lower your... stick." Draco's jaw clenched. "It's a wand, you git, and I will do no such thing. who the hell are you and what are you doing here?" The man's mouth stretched into a wide grin, his eyes danced with mischief. "I am Loki of Asgard, but I have no idea where 'here' is" He replied, looking around. Draco studied him for a moment "You're in Hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry. Interestingly enough, the school is very secured by powerful spells, no muggle should even be able to see the castle.." "Muggle?" Loki interrupted "Nonmagic people." Draco replied. Loki's smile stretched bigger "Ehehehehehe, I'm not a 'muggle', you mewling quim, I'm a god." Draco snorted "I'm a Malfoy, same thing." Loki crossed his arms and leaned against the stone wall. "Well, Malfoy of Hogwarts, as you can see, I am unarmed and seem to be lost. Maybe you can help me." "I should get Professor Snape." Draco said more-so to himself. Loki stiffened slightly "I would prefer not to include other... officers." Draco studied Loki for a moment and slowly lowered his wand. "How did you get here?" Loki pushed himself off of the wall and crossed to the other side, intrigued by a tapestry of Salazar Slytherin "Oh, a family disagreement, my insufferable brother and I don't always see eye to eye, I did what I had to do, jumped into the first portal I could find to flee his temper, and ended up here." "Are you some sort of evil? You said you were a god, that would make your brother a god also, you've obviously done something to warrant his anger." He once again raised his wand "How do I know who's side I'm on?" Loki swaggered over to a cushioned bench, eased down and leaned back with an amused smile "Very well, Malfoy of Hogwarts, let's get acquainted." "My name is Draco." Draco stated, slightly annoyed. "Draco, meaning 'dragon'?" Loki asked tilting his head. Draco nodded. "And this being a school of magic, I suppose you are a wizard?" Draco nodded again. "How very interesting." Loki said "You see, on Asgard I am also considered a wizard." Draco seemed unimpressed and said nothing. "Tell me, young Draco, are you a good wizard or a bad wizard?" "My father says there is no good and evil, only power." Draco replied. Loki gave a somewhat dark grin, that went unnoticed by Draco "Really? Your father is a very smart man." "What kind of god are you?" Draco asked. Loki searched Draco's face carefully "The god of mischief." he answered. This seemed to greatly interest Draco, he moved closer to the dark stranger. "So.. you did do something...bad?" He asked. Loki once again hesitated before answering "I don't think it was bad. My brother you see, he is next in line to the throne. He thinks I want the throne." "Do you?" Draco asked. Loki lowered his gaze and Draco swore he saw sadness. "I only wanted to be his equal." Draco slowly set down on the bench against the wall opposite of Loki as he continued "You see, on Asgard, being who I am, any move I make is assumed evil." Draco nodded, for he could all too well relate. "I know what you mean." he muttered "In this school, there are four houses. You are sorted into one of those four houses based on your personality traits and level of magic. Slytherins, like me, we are considered the evil ones. We're not evil, we're simply ambitious and driven. We will do anything it takes to achieve our goals, even if it means doing evil things, but that doesn't exactly make us evil." Loki grinned again "Exactly! I was only trying to show Thor the error of his ways!" "Thor?" asked a confused Draco, Loki waved his hand, "My dramatic brother." The two were silent for a moment, both considering what the other had said. Draco cleared his throat "So, you're just going to need to lay low for a while then?" Loki rubbed the back of his head "Yeeeeah, it'll blow over after a while. Maybe. After a long while." Draco nodded, lacing his aristocratic fingers and tapping his thumbs, once again studying the god. Abruptly, Draco stood up, Loki braced himself for attack, but Draco instead placed his wand in his robes. "Well, I've got exams to study for so I have to be getting back to the dungeons, I can find you a place to stay if you'd like." Loki smiled a genuine smile, and stood to follow the wizard. They walked side by side down the long corridor to the dungeons, "You uh, are already in our house colors at least." he said, gesturing to Loki's green and black body suit. Loki beamed at Draco, "Yes, I am rather fond of green and black.." He thought of Thor's color choice, "They're so much better than crimson and gold." Draco's face wrinkled in disgust "Those are the worst!" You could hear the two chuckling together down the dungeon steps "By the way.. you knowing magic and all... if you're going to be here a while, I think there's a defense against the dark arts teaching position available..."
