Wake up.

Get out of bed.

Get dressed.

Open the curtains.

Not that it does much. The light is grey. The air is dust. She wonders if her heart even beats anymore.

She goes to the bathroom. Combs the sleep out of her hair. Washes the drowsiness from her face. Her eyes. A beautiful sky blue. Lifeless. She remembers all the times they were filled with joy, life, energy. She doesn't smile. She can't smile.
She grabs a hair band and ties her, once pastel blue, hair into a single, plane, ponytail. She can't bring herself to do anything with it.
She gets everything together and leaves. Her car is outside. She gets in. The engine starts with a low rumble, and she drives off.
Her work isn't glamorous. An old, grey, office building. Everyone dresses the same, or similar at least.
She's no different.
She sits there in her cubicle. Going through files, reports. Editing this, writing that. A few people walk by and say good morning. What's so good about it?
It's just another day.
Someone, a new employee, walks up to her work station. He tries to flirt. She stays quiet. Eventually, he goes away.
Lunch break arrives. She's not hungry. Never really is. Not as much as she used to be. Instead, she sits there. Doing nothing. She doesn't play games on her computer, she doesn't text her friends, she doesn't think. All she does, is sit there. Waiting.
It's just another day.
Absentmindedly, her eyes drift to the calendar. Her birthday is next week, Saturday. Aphmau and Nana would call her. They always did.
Her boss comes by and asks if she can work overtime tonight. She nods. Nothing else to do.
The sun fades to night. It's cold. The heater broke last week and nobody has come to fix it. What remains of the staff, soon disappears. Until...

Gone. Home to their families. Friends.

The lights are dim.
...
She's alone.
...
She's empty.
...
