Unedited. Lot of dialogue in what I consider a filler chapter :/

3 weeks later*

"No... I've said 'no' multiple times. My answer isn't changing." Bron stood firm, his arms crossed over his chest as he stared at the woman in front of him. He had just gotten Steph to fall asleep when the hospital psychologist walked in. LeBron carefully stood from the bed and walked over to her as they moved to the corner of the room. They would've gone out to the hall but there was no way LeBron was letting Steph out of his sight.

"Mr. James, this could help Stephen get over this... It could help him progress back toward emotional stability faster." Bron glared at the woman as she spoke rather loud. "First of all, I will get extremely upset if you wake him up. You do not want to see me upset... Second of all, what the heck is that supposed to mean? Emotional stability? What, do you think he's crazy or something?" He was losing his patience with this woman as he whisper-yelled, never once taking his eyes away from Steph, who was still peacefully asleep.

"Mr. James, you know that's not what I meant... I just think this would be good for him, I think this could be what he needs...... I always try to respect my patients' wants and needs, but Stephen has already had to stay longer than planned... LeBron, it's been 3 weeks since he's been admitted to this hospital and he was supposed to be released 2 weeks ago, but he's still here because he hasn't been cleared by me. I can't clear my patients unless I believe they are in the right mind, emotionally and mentally."

"Like you said, he's not even close to getting over this, I am not about to let you put him through it again. There is no way in hell that I'm about to agree to you making him do a cognitive interview. That would be mental and emotional torture...... I don't understand why you can't just clear him. We planned and agreed for him to receive home visits, not to stay in the hospital... I guarantee you, he'd feel better at home. Plus, he can interact with more people and become more comfortable with his life... Please, let him go home. He wants to go home and he should be allowed to go home... You can still come for the house visits and check up on him, we can plan that... Dr. Kay, I don't know if you've noticed, but he's not getting any better by being stuck in this room... This is the longest he's slept in a week and it's only been 10 minutes." Dr. Kay was about to speak, but LeBron cut her off, not done sharing his side.

"He's not comfortable here, he can't sleep through the night and it's probably because you won't let visitors stay with him at night. I'm not here for him when he should be asleep so he probably doesn't feel safe enough to even close his eyes. His nurses are telling me that he doesn't sleep, that he's awake whenever they come in to check on him...... I know you might think you know what you're doing but it hasn't been working and I don't understand how you can just continue to keep my baby here when it's blatantly obvious that he's not getting better. In fact, I almost think he's getting worse... He needs to be with people who can help him be comfortable again. He needs to be home, he needs his family... You have to understand where I'm coming from."

"Mr. James, believe me, I do understand... He's not the only patient that has needed more time, but—" "Please.... Just let me take him home, let me help him. I can't help him if I can't be with him when he needs me the most... Please, Dr. Kay... Look at him, he deserves more than to be stuck in this room for months... He deserves better... Come on, I mean, I'm literally begging right now." The psychologist sighed, she knew her current plans weren't working and that a change in setting could help her patient.

"Alright... I'll clear him. I can get the discharge papers today and we'll set up the first home visit... Once you sign his discharge papers, you can leave whenever you want." LeBron sighed in relief, a smile present on his face as he thanked Dr. Kay. "Of course, I always want the best for my patients. I'll go get those papers, now. I would suggest we schedule that first home visit within the next week, okay?" "Okay."

LeBron watched the psychologist leave before walking back over to Steph's bed, sitting next to him and gently grabbing his hand. "We're going home, baby... We're going home." Pressing his lips to the back of Steph's hand, Bron found himself beaming as he thought of his baby finally being able to come home.
