Jacob "I think we should get some sleep."
Nila "Okay. I think it is a school day tomorrow?"
Jacob "yeah I know."
Nila "Okay."
Jacob swims down to the bottom of the pool. Nila waits a minute, and then follows him. Jacob lays down, and Nila lays next to him. Jacob closes his eyes. Nila just lays awake knowing that she will never get to know what it is like to be on land again. Nila finally closes her eyes.
*Morning* School bell goes off.
Jacob, and Nila wake up to the sound of the bell and they notice that there friends are going to be there. Nila has a big smile on her face.
Jacob "Why are you happy?"
Nila "Cause I get to see my friends."
Jacob "You do know that only certain people you."
Nila "Oh I didn't know that."
Nila starts to cry. Jacob wipes her tears, and stare into those ocean eyes. Nila look back into his Chocolate Chip eyes. They are both upset that they will never know if there friends, or family can see them.
Jacob "Don't get your hopes up for your friends seeing you. Carter didn't even see me." *cries*
Nila starts to wipe his tears off his face. Jacob lays his head on her hand. Nila Starts to smile.
Nila " Even though they can't see us, at least we can see each other."
Jacob looks at her, and smiles.
The students just now getting to the pool for the lesson today. One of Nila's friends look into the pool. Amber was her name. Amber see's something blurry in the pool. "Nila? Is that you?" Amber said. Amber starts to cry.
Nila"Yes it is me." Nila cries.
Jacob "Amber can't hear you."
Nila "Why?"
Jacob "I don't know."
Amber hurries into the locker room, and quickly puts on her swim gear. Amber slams her locker, and runs out of the room. Amber runs to the edge of the pool and gets down on her knees to look for Nila. Jacob looks at Nila, and tells her not to go out of the water. Amber sees Nila move. Amber wipes her tears and stand up.
She walks closer to the edge, and jumps into the water. Amber opens her eyes, and sees a blur like Alexander did. Amber starts to swim toward the blur of Nila. Jacob looks at Nila, and says "Don't move." Nila nods her head. Amber gets closer to her.
Amber reaches her arm out, and Nila reaches her arm out. Amber watches Nila disappear. Nila thinks that Amber can still see her. Amber puts her hands on her face, and starts to swim out of the water. Everyone else is surrounding the edge of the pool wonder what Amber was doing.
Amber gets out of the pool, and Carter asked "What were you doing?" Amber says "I saw her." She has a shocked look on her face. "Saw who?" Carter asked. "I saw NILA!" Amber said. "Amber Nila is dead. She is not in the water." Carter told her. Amber looks at him, and starts to cry. "How did I see her then?" Amber asked. "You are imagining her. You miss her so much that you think she is still here." Carter said to Amber.
Amber looks back into the water, and she can still the blur of Nila, and this time she can see Jacob. "Oh MY GOSH!" Amber said. "What is it?" Andy said. "LOOK JACOB IS THERE TOO!" Amber screamed. "Stop okay they are both dead. They are gone. You are seeing things." Carter said. "I swear I can see them." Amber starts bursting into tears.
She turns back and looks at Brady. Brady takes her to the office. Amber is calling her parents to tell them what she saw. Her parents think that she needs help. Amber went home, because her parents didn't want her near that pool for a while until she calms down about her friends. Amber thinks about Nila's death.
A-Lin was thinking about what Amber saw. A-Lin is one the friends that Nila had. A-Lin walks to the edge of the water to see what Amber was looking/talking about. A-Lin doesn't see anything. She blinks then rubs her eyes. A-Lin sees a blur. She thinks that it might be the same blur that Amber was talking about. She grabs Andy, and Carter. "Look there is Nila, and Jacob." A-Lin said. "Just stop. EVERYONE ONE GO HOME!" Carter said. Andy looks at Carter, and starts to walk away.
A-Lin starts to cry, because she wants to see Nila again. "I will be back tomorrow Nila." A-Lin Said. Nila looks up and starts to cry, because she knows that she has friends that care about her. Jacob look at Nila, and wipes her melted diamond tears. Nila looks down at the ground. She thinks about her friends, and how they will never know what she is thinking of anymore, or what she feels.
Jacob notices that Nila isn't talking anymore. Jacob tries to say something to her, but she ignored him. Jacob was confused why she wasn't talking. Nila went to the very bottom of the pool and layed herself down. Jacob stopped to think on why she wouldn't talk to him.
Nila started to wipe her tears off her face, and Jacob is just staring at her ready to tear up. Jacob feels something from her. He feels fear. He starts to think what would she be scared of. Earlier she was talking about not ever being with her friends ever again. Is she scared that I might leave her? I don't want her to feel that way. He tries not to think about leaving her, but he wonders what would happen if he did leave. He shakes his head to get it out of his mind. Jacob swims down to Nila, and lays next to her to try to comfort her. He puts his arms around her to give her a nice place were she could feel safe. Jacob hopes she's ok.
