A New Start

Chapter 6

I finally woke up from that great dream and lie tired on my bed Kent walked in to check on me,"how ya doin kiddo!" he sounded like a character from a Disney movie! Haha he was so nice and really funny! "I'm doing alright" I said back to him in a tired shaky voice. "your shakin a lot do you feel ok?" "yeah I just am really shaky." it was nice that he cared about me. I liked it. "would you like to get out of that bed for a little bit? You haven't gotten any fresh air in days!" my far lit up "yes I would really like to!"

Kent walked me down to the hospital cafeteria and then bought me a bagel with strawberry cream cheese (my absolute favorite) I ate it in almost one bite. He ate a sesame bagle with butter and orange juice. He had nice style. After breakfast we walked down to the library to pick out a book to read. We looked around and laughed and looked around and dropped a couple books off the shelves......we had fun! We finally found a book we liked called "Because Of Winn Dixie" I had almost forgotten how to read because I had missed so much school for months. Kent tried to refresh my memory. We got all the way up to chapter 5 until we had to go back to the hospital so that Kent could change my IV for me

When we got back to the hospital we danced down the hallway and into the room. I jumped back onto my bed and Kent changed my IV. Kent read to me and we started crying together from the book. I had always wished for a dog but my mother never would have let me. After the book I had fallen asleep for an hour. I woke up and saw a pile of hair on my pillow. I was losing my hair.
