Chapter 13
Meagan
~Earlier that day~
After Stiles dropped me off at home, I tried and failed to get some homework done. Sitting on my bed all I could think about was the events at the animal clinic, the vet that knew what Stiles and I are, the man on the table, Ivan, and the way his eyes fell on me and the itchy way it made my skin feel even now hours later.
Deciding that I would not be getting anything done and knowing that Mom and Scott were out I texted Sheriff Stilinski and asked if he could meet me in the woods by my house to train a bit. He replied that he would be over in an hour or so. Regarding the time difference I thought I would go outside and warm up a bit without really leaving my yard just in case.
Once I was outside I stretched and jogged a bit around in circles, while working on my scenting skills. After about twenty minuets of scenting out rabbits and Scott and my Mom in the house I got an itchy feeling on my skin that I had felt only once before. Quickly turning around I nearly run into Ivan's chest.
"You need to leave. Stiles wouldn't like you being here." I said to him straightening my spine, with as much strength as I could muster. His response was a terse laugh as he eyed me from head to toe and back again. I fought the urge to turn and run when I heard car tires about a mile away. Knowing that it had to be the sheriff I let out the highest loudest scream I could before Ivan hit me so hard that I flew backwards and slammed into the brick wall of the back of my house.
Pain coursed through me and I was stunned into immobility for all of two minutes as I watched Ivan strut forward as if he had exerted no effort at all. When he was only about five feet in front of me I heard a low menacing growl as the sheriff sprinted forward and tackled Ivan to the ground. I slowly got to my feet as I thought the sheriff might actually beat Ivan, I saw his eyes glow a frighteningly icy blue and he let out a roar that shook the windows on my house. Before I could blink the sheriff was tossed to the side and landed with a sickening thud.
Ivan then turned his attention back to me as I tried to summon my wolf strength, yet the only thing I was able to summon was the icy sensation behind my eyes that signaled the glowing color. Ivan stopped short if only for a second as he took in my eyes and a look crossed his features as if I was a rare commodity and he had just made the exclusive purchase.
Before he recovered I followed my instincts and turned and sprinted away hoping to draw Ivan away from the sheriff's limp form. I got maybe a mile away before I felt something hard the back of my head and the world went black.

Stiles
My heart was thudding out of my chest as I ran through the woods towards Meagan's house. When I got there I saw my dad in a slightly upright sitting position next to the back door and I nearly sprinted the whole way over to him.
When I reached him, I checked him over and found only two barely broken bones. Once I was satisfied with his health, I spun around and looked for Meagan everywhere. I didn't see any sign of her so I started to scent her out to see if I could try and find her that way. After a few minuets I felt my blood begin to boil as I discovered a sickening scent mixed with Meagan's. Dried pine and blood mixed with the sweetness of lavender and honey and I know who has been here and who has taken her from me....
Ivan.

My dad and I sneak around the side of the semi-collapsed remnants of the once beautiful home that belongs to the Hawthorne family. The story of that family haunts every young wolf's nightmares, and serves as a reminder once you grow older to be wary of hunters and the death that clings to them like an ever-present shadow.
Once we reach the back door a scream shatters the silence of the woods and my dad has to restrain me as much as he can to keep me from bursting in there and ripping Ivan limb from limb. I whip my head over to face my father and try to keep the pain and anger from my voice as I say, "Meagan is in there and she is in pain. I have to help her..."
"I know son," he responds, "I know that she is everything to you and has been for a long time but barging in there and blowing our cover could only end up with her dead or worse. We need a plan, or else we could all not be walking out of here. Ivan has been an Omega for too long now, he is too volatile and violent and you know I'm right."
Another scream echoed through the night and I felt my heart clench as I nodded my head unable to form any words to respond to my father.
Meagan
I couldn't help the scream that burst from my lips as Ivan sunk his claws into the back of my neck. I didn't know why he kept trying over and over again or to what end this was supposed to accomplish but I heard him swear under his breath as he ripped them from my skin.
"Fine, if I can't remove him from your memory like this, I will just have to find another way to make you mine." He said and he looked at me with a look in his eyes that I never want to see again. "Stay here darling, I will be right back. I want to freshen up a bit for you." He gave me a terrifying smile similar to one found on the face of a serial killer or the Joker.
Once he had left the room I struggled against the chains binding me to the staircase railing. But no matter how hard I pulled or struggled it made no difference, I couldn't break free. Ivan strode back into the room, and I noticed the subtle differences in his appearance. He had put on some kind of cologne that made him smell even worse than he did naturally, and the not-so-subtle difference was that he was no longer wearing his shirt. As that fact sunk into my brain I felt the panic starting to build even more as I suddenly realized what he intended to do.
As he made his way over to me I felt the tears begin to fall down my face and I forced my mind to block out any memory of this terrible moment. When he reached me all I could do was scream...
