♪ Cause I can change my mind each day

~Your POV~

I frowned as I walk into the lunchroom. Almost all tables were full and I could see all of the friend groups.

I held my small brown paper bag, hoping it wouldn't rip and spill out all over the floor. I took a few steps forward, very slowly, walking aimlessly.

Randomly, someone walks right against my right shoulder, pushing me. I look over to glare at them, but they turn back to me with a ghost of a smile. I remember this guy's red eyes and brown hair. It was Zenix.

Zenix slightly jerking his head in a direction, signaling me to follow him. I walk quickly to catch up with him.

Zenix leads me over to Gene and Sasha, who were leaning against the wall by the cafeteria's exit. I smile when I arrive to the two.

"Good to see you guys." I greet. I noticed none of them had lunches with them. "Do you guys even eat lunch?" I question.

"It's Friday, is it not?" Gene asked me. I nodded slowly, a confused look was plastered on my Y/s/c face. "It's pizza day."

I still didn't understand. I didn't see pizza on the menu for today's lunches, it was some kind of disgustingly broiled fish.

Zenix grabbed my lunch bag out of my hands and tossed it into a nearby garbage can.

"What the hell, Zenix?" I demanded.

"Whatever you packed into your lunch, I promise that this'll be better." Gene stated.

"What do you mean by 'this'?"

I heard loud footsteps from behind me, the pounded on the linoleum tiles of the school floor. I checked over my shoulder to see what was making the commotion, and I then saw that the angry person seemed to be charging towards us four.

It was Tony, my big brother.

"Where have you been?!" He asked me loudly. "I've been looking for you! You left me worrie-"

"Did you really think I couldn't handle myself?" I ask my brother, looking him directly in the eyes with stern gaze. "And if you even thought I hadn't made at least one friend yet, then you clearly don't know me too well."

"Y/n-" Anthony tried to talk, but couldn't as I was pulled away and outside the cafeteria by Sasha and Gene.

The four of us headed outside and into the small school garden/courtyard. Cobblestone walkways and benches lined the sides and overgrown plants seemed to spawn in all directions.

The two let go of me and we all sat down on nearby benches that surrounded a small stone table.

"My bad." I apologized.

"Who in the name of Irene was that?" Sasha questioned.

"My brother."

"He seems like an a**hole." Gene commented. Sasha jabbed him in the ribs for his rude remark.

"Thanks, I'll tell him you said that." I replied sarcastically while rolling my eyes. "I remember you saying something about pizza, and you better have it because someone," I said, emphasizing the word 'someone' and looking at Zenix, "threw away my lunch."

"I know." Gene smirked. "Sasha, go do your thing."

The purple eyed girl nodded. "How about Y/n comes with me, just to show her what happens." Sasha suggested.

Gene shrugged and his face read 'Do whatever you want, I really don't care'. I grinned and began to walk with Sasha.

We walked around the side of the school and we were headed to a side door, it would lead us into a hallway that's pretty close to the front desk and office.

"Hey, Y/n. Can I see your palm?"

I looked at her a little skeptically. I didn't really know what she'd do, but I gave her my hand anyway.

Sasha held my dominant hand, palm facing upwards. Her index finger traced the lines that were creases in my skin.

"Your head line is short," Sasha said, tracing a small line that was in the middle of my hand, "that means you tend to think quickly and reach conclusions kinda quickly." Sasha releases my hand.

"I wouldn't say I jump to conclusions really quickly." I retort.

Sasha walks up to the main desk. She smiles a fake smile to the desk lady.

"I've come to pick up Mr Ryder's pizza for the staff meeting later." Sasha lies flawlessly.

"I'm so glad he has you as a classroom assistant, Sasha." The lady complimented, while handing Sasha a box of pizza.

She said thank you and we then walked back to the side door and went outside, making our way over to Zenix and Gene.

"How'd you do that so easily?" I question.

"The teachers have a staff meeting every Friday right after school ends. They always cater it with pizza from a certain nearby joint." Sasha explains while smirking to herself at the ingenious plan Gene made. "We call that place and request one pizza be delivered early at lunch time, we lie to the operators on the phone saying we're teachers. They deliver it to the front desk and I claim that I'm Mr Ryder's classroom assistant, and the office girl just gives me the pizza. Also, Ryder is very old, so he believes that I'm the assistant."

We both arrive back at the table where Zenix and Gene are and sit down. We open the box and take a slice.

"So, the school ends up paying for the pizza?" I ask.

"Yeah, but they never finish all of them anyway." Gene said, butting in on the conversation Sasha and I were having. "I had detention before where I had to come in after school and help clean up after the staff meeting. They ordered eight or so pizzas, we stole one so they had seven, and I had to throw out like two and a half of them. So us grabbing a pizza means free lunch for three students, and-"

"Four." Sasha states. "Four students." She smiles at me.

"Right, four students. And the school wastes less food. So it's a win-win situation."

Of course I felt guilty eating food that I didn't pay for, and it was kinda stolen, but I guess it was better on all sides of saving food.
