"Excuse me?" spluttered Peter.
Muerve's proclamation made no sense at all but what was even more baffling was the fact that he was speaking as if Peter should have understood what he was talking about.
Muerve gave a sigh of exasperation. "Honestly, the so called Muggles seem to be more knowledgeable than you magic folk!" he muttered under his breath.
Peter continued to stare at Muerve with a confused expression and finally Muerve, with the patience and demeanor as one would have with a child, started to speak.
"To understand where we are now, you must understand the workings of what we call the Kosmos. The Kosmos is a name we give to entire collection of universes."
"Universes?" asked Peter in bewilderment.
"Yes, Universes or Multiverse as it is referred to in certain realms."
"There are more worlds? asked Peter with skepticism.
"My dear boy! I am telling you there are more universes!" said Muerve with an air of frustration. "However, we don't have to talk about all that. What matters to us right now is this universe in which you, Peter Pettigrew, were born as a wizard."
Peter didn't know where this conversation was leading however, something inside him told him to listen. After all, he wasn't going anywhere else.
"Every universe is divided in to two main domains. Zontanon, the World of the Living and Nekron, the World of the Dead. There are separate Zontanons and Nekrons for each and every universe however, this place where we are now is common for the entire Kosmos. That is why, very few people have the chance to pass through this place upon their death."
A tiny shiver went through Peter. So he was indeed, dead after all.
"The In-Between or Anamon as we call it is a place which is a dimension apart not bound by the constraints of space and time. It is here and it is not here. Inside Anamon, reality exists but at the same time, doesn't exist."
Poor Peter felt like he had enough. He couldn't follow a word Muerve was saying. He showed his confusion on his face and scratched the back of his head.
Muerve noticed this and decided to speed along. "To put it in simple terms, this is a place where anything and everything is possible but it comes at a price. The highest price you can offer. The greatest sacrifice you can provide."
"You mean to say, I can go back from being dead to living?" asked Peter.
Muerve shrugged. "If that is what you truly want."
Peter's face lit up. He had a chance to set things right. If he became alive again, he would do things right. He wouldn't betray his friends. He would stand beside them and fight. As soon as he thought that, a nagging feeling propped up in the back of his mind.
"You said that anything was possible but at a price. What price?" he asked.
Muerve smiled. "As I said, the highest you can offer. The greatest sacrifice you can provide."
"And what would that be?"
Muerve shrugged once again. "It differs from one person to another. For each his own. What do you think you would give up?"
Peter racked his brains. He wondered what he had that he could sacrifice so that he could live again. Another thought propped up.
"What if don't want anything. What then?"
