Louis

I ENTERED THE ROOM with a casual stride, glancing at everything but the other four people who were also in the room. Yet, however, it wouldn't hurt to steal at least one glance at the people who I'm going to be spending an entire Saturday with.

When no one was paying attention, my cerulean eyes rapidly swept across the room. The other people here were all very stiff and awkward - sitting at their own desks while maintaining a certain distance from each other in an odd attempt to avoid any sort of contact. My inquisitive moment was then instantly broken when I noticed that someone was staring right at me.

But yet, he still managed to grasp my gaze just like always. Honestly, I shouldn't really be shocked to see him out of all people here. A non-subtle smirk crept upon his lips, causing me to scoff slightly before diverting my irises towards something actually worth looking at. He was the only person who could get me ticked off so easily with a simple snap of his fingers.

Liam Payne. I shook my head at the thought of his name, chuckling to myself on how much hatred I had for the guy and he was a mere two feet away from me. He seemed relaxed, leaning his chair backwards on the two back legs with his feet propped up on the desk. I refrained myself from ogling at the sight of his black sleeveless tank top along with his usual light-washed ripped jeans. I simply walked over to the tables and sat down next to Niall, since he was the closest person here that I knew.

“Hey, Louis.” Niall greeted me, smiling, as if this was the best day ever for him. I tried to grin back, but my forever-remaining frown ever since this morning wasn't budging. Letting out an overly exaggerated exhale, I nodded at him in response before setting my elbow on the desk and placing my head onto my palm.

This was definitely going to be a long day.

Sitting in a room full of nothing but silence when there shouldn't be any makes a person sort of jumpy. Like - Louis was being awfully quiet, sitting there without a sound unlike the normal Louis who went to frat parties and always had a beer in hand while slurring out insults to random strangers.

Nonetheless, I still expected more than a mere nod as a response. I mean, sure, we didn't really talk all that much, but we hung out with the same people. Shouldn't that deserve more than a nod?

I was drifted out of my thoughts as the library door immediately slammed open, in emerging Mr. Dick. He stalked over to where we all were at, eyes ablaze. I stifled a chortle; his demeanor wasn't really cutting it for me. The others around me stiffened their backs, obviously terrified on what was about to come.

“Alright, it's officially time for detention, maggots. Now, here are the rules - ” Mr. Dick announced, raising his eyebrows with a scowl when he was interrupted.

“Sir, there's been a misunderstanding. You see, I don't exactly belong here,” Louis interfered, blurting out the words while smacking on his gum. Some guy behind us snorted.

“ - as I was saying before I was so rudely interrupted, the rules are simple. No chewing gum,” Mr. Dick smiled tauntingly, picking up a wastepaper basket and thrusting it towards Louis.

Louis rolled his eyes, throwing away the nice guy attitude, and spat out his gum into the bin. Mr. Dick then set down the basket and walked towards Liam to continue his pursuit on calling out everything and everyone in the room besides himself.
