You've been on the GMM crew for about 6 months now and it's been the best job of your life. You started out as a journalist for some crappy website when you first moved to L.A because, hey, it's a job. After doing that for a while you were assigned the interview that would change your life: the interview with Rhett and Link. Once you were done with the interview, their producer, Stevie, asked you into her office. She then offered you a position as a paid intern, granted, a meagerly paid intern, but still it was a good position, and beat the hell out of your current job. So you took her offer and within the month you were acquainted with most of the crew.
It didn't take long for them to figure out that you are a huge fan of the show. You practically lived and breathed everything Rhett and Link before you started working here, and now that you are actually part of the production, it's like you're in a fantasy world. Everyone there, including the guys (Rhett and Link), affectionately calls you "Fangirl". You try not to let it show, but sometimes you really can't help yourself. You get to spend countless hours brainstorming and pitching ideas with people you used to only know on a screen, now you call them your co-workers, and even friends.
One day, after filming Good Mythical More, the crew starts to clean up for the day and heads back to their respective workspaces. You pack up your laptop and notes and begin to leave the set to head back to your desk when Link stops you.
"Hey, Y/N, nice work with the Will It Salsa idea. I'm glad we found a new mind to pick with fresh ideas, or at least ideas to keep our beat up old ideas fresh." He flashes you a blinding white smile and gives a little chuckle.
"Oh, I've been wanting to see you guys do that one for years. I'm glad it was approved for the show." You respond, bashfully. While you were pretty comfortable talking to the guys, it wasn't usually just you talking to one or the other one on one, so you weren't exactly sure what to do when Link approached you without Rhett, Stevie, or someone else from the crew.
"Speaking of fresh ideas, would you maybe want to step into our office for a sec? I want to pick your brain a little." He says, pointing in the direction of their office and stepping a little bit away from you.
"Oh, I mean yeah, that would be fine." You follow him into their office and read the label on the door 'Rhett and Link'. You haven't been in here yet, but of course, you know the room well, from different videos of theirs. Link gestures for you to sit in the chair on one side of his desk, you do so, and he sits opposite you.
"Rhett had to step out, he had a dentist appointment right after filming. I hope that's okay." Link says with a professional tone to his voice.
"Right, yeah, of course. So what was it you wanted to pick my brain about?" You say, trying to keep your composure. Being in a room alone with one of your idols and secret loves is something that you never thought would happen.
"How long have you been watching our content?" Link asks, not taking time to work his way into the subject.
"Oh.... Gosh, it's been about 10 years now. I started watching when I was about 13." You're slightly taken off guard by the directness of the question.
"Hmmmm," Link adjusts his glasses and looks off into space a little while he presses his fingertips together and touches them to his lips, appearing to be deep in thought, "and what would you say kept you watching? What was is it that appealed to you?"
"Oh well I.... erm..." You trail off, stammering awkwardly. You knew the reason, it was Link's attractiveness. You were a hormonal teenager and just discovering what being turned on actually was. You would go so far as to say Link might have been the one to awaken your sexuality. You shake your head, trying to think of something to say.
"Well?" Link says, raising an eyebrow and leaning in slightly.
You know that you're comfortable enough that you can joke with them, but just being with Link alone makes you feel like it would be kind of weird to be like that. You decide that there really is no way out of it so you just go for it. "I... guess it was probably... I mean I was so young and boy crazy. I just thought you two were so attractive." You give an awkward giggle, Link joins in.
"Really?" Link says in between laughs. "So which of us did you find more attractive?"
"What?!" You laugh nervously.
"Yeah which of us did you favor? Certainly it was one of us."
"Well.... I mean I was only 13, so it's not like I was really into beards..." You try to keep laughing but it was getting obvious that it was forced.
Link slams his hand on the desk and leans forward "I knew it!" He laughs and you try to follow suit, but really you're thinking why on earth he was asking all of this. "You've been liking your time here, though right? Working for us?"
"Oh yeah! It's been the best!" You say confidently.
"Good, good." Link stares off into space a little. "Ya know, I've really been enjoying you working with us too."
"Oh? Well, I'm glad to hear it!" You say, a bit confused by his remark.
"Yeah... I... when you came in to interview us all those months ago, I just couldn't stop thinking about you. You're so creative, so energetic." He stands, making his way around the desk, and stops, standing about a foot in front of you, causing you to have to tilt your head all the way up to look at his face. He nervously adjusts his glasses, "I'm just... really happy we found you for the crew."
"So am I." You say, a huge smile spreading across your face, but still thinking how strange the situation is. He then goes to sit back down and you two go on to actually discussing ideas for the show. After about a half an hour he dismisses you and you go back to work.
