Note: I know I've been taking my sweet time on this. I'm going to try to upload regularly once I get a more scheduled life lol. Thanks to all who have read and commented! Hope you enjoy this little update! I promise there'll be more soon!

It has been a week since Chase's party. You're pretty sure that Link has forgotten what happened that night since the usual tension between you two hasn't been any different than it was before. However, your curiosity has been eating you alive whether or not he actually does remember, so you decide to talk to Rhett about it.

"Look, I know it was a mistake, and it's extremely unprofessional of me to even bring it up again, but does Link remember anything about what happened between us the night of Chase's party?" You whisper even though you know it's just you and Rhett in their office. As you wait for his response, his lips part into a mischievous smile under his mustache.

"Well, he certainly remembered it that night on our way home. He told me eeeeverything. As for if he knows anything now, I'm not entirely sure. He does still talk about you to me, but he did that before that night." He leans back in his chair behind his desk nonchalantly.

You step forward slightly. "He... talks about me? How so?"

Rhett continues to smile and raises an eyebrow, "Oh, all good things... very very good things. I don't think he'd consider that night a drunken mistake unless he made you feel uncomfortable."

"N-no... it was a completely mutual thing." You bite your lip and look away, your thoughts trailing. When you snap out of it, Rhett is staring at you, both eyebrows up. When your eyes meet his he goes back to his smile.

"If you want I can convince him to ask you out. He's not getting any younger, and thankfully neither are you." As Rhett lets out a cackle you roll your eyes and you turn to leave.

You reach the door and open it, "Do whatever you want, man. I've got nothing to lose." As you turn to leave, you find two striking blue eyes staring at you. You take in a hard gasp.

"Why do you have nothing to lose?" Link asks, an oblivious smile on his face.

Still trying to catch your breath from the shock, you hold your hand to your chest. "You scared me!"

The brunette lets out a hearty laugh and places a warm hand on your shoulder. "I'm sorry! I didn't know you were in the office."

You laugh nervously. "It's fine! I.... I have to get back to work!" You awkwardly move past him and go back to your desk.

A couple days have passed since you've spoken to Rhett. You find yourself nervous around Link, more than usual. Every time you see him, your mind can't help but flash back to every detail of that night. At the end of the day, Link asks if he can speak to you privately. Your mind races as you nod and follow him into their office. As you enter he stays behind to close the door. He turns to look at you.

"What did you need to talk to me about?" You ask, trying not to sound anxious.

He moves toward you, looking at the floor. "Do you remember going to Chase's apartment with me last weekend?"

Your eyes get wide as you search for words. "Uh... yeah... I think so..." You stutter.

He lifts his head to meet your eyes with his. "Yeah, I remember snatches of what happened. I... I just wanted to apologize if I hurt you or made you feel uncomfortable in any way. It wasn't right of me to take advantage of you in that state of mind." He gives you a look of sincerity.

"Oh..." You say in disbelief. While you wouldn't put it past Link it is just so uncommon to see a man act with such respect regarding something such as a drunken night. "Well, while I didn't feel particularly hurt or uncomfortable, I do believe that it was a mistake." Going off of Link's somewhat hurt look you quickly add, "N-not because of you, it's just that maybe I was taking advantage of your state of mind. You seemed a bit drunker than I was. Not to mention what it could do to your reputation at the office, and I'm not quite sure what the rules are here for office relationship and I- I-"

"You were thinking all this that night?" Link cuts off your rambling with a smile.

"Well no, after you passed out I began to think of all these things." You return the smile.

He steps a bit closer to you and bites his lip bashfully. "Well, I'm glad it didn't happen because I would hate to start out whatever this is like that. If you would, I'd love to take you out properly."

Your jaw drops slightly. "Are... you serious? I mean, you don't think it would be a bad idea with our whole professional relationship?"

"Well, if you hadn't noticed, we're not exactly that professional around here as is. If it'll make you feel better, no one has to know about this, except maybe Rhett. Plus, we can call it spending time to get to know each other better rather than a date." Link takes a step even closer, to where there's about a foot between the two of you.

"I mean... I wouldn't mind it. As long as you're comfortable with it, so am I." You give him a nervous smile, trying to hide the fact that inside you're absolutely ecstatic.
