Irritation pulsed in John's veins as he glared at his flat mate.
"Sherlock, can you stop being such a FREAK and start acting normal for once?!?!"

A stone cold expression masked his best friend's face as Sherlock Holmes closed up.
John watched, sickening, as he saw every single barrier Sherlock Holmes put down the day they met, pull up. He was closing himself back into a cage. Every single barrier was raised, Sherlock Holmes locked inside of it.

A tear rolled down Sherlock's porcelain face, his expression unchanging.
"You were the only one who never called me that, John."
He walked off, heart aching. The door slammed shut behind him, with the sounds of John's muffled screaming.

"Sherlock!"
Years. Years of being called a Freak.

Genius?

No.

"You're a freak Sherlock Holmes."

Freak. Freak. Freak. You're a Freak, Sherlock Holmes.

He growled, trying to drown out the thoughts, the screaming voices.
"SHERLOCK!"

John ran, catching up with his best friend. He gripped onto Sherlock, wrapping him in a tight hug.
"I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Please. I'm sorry, Sherlock."

freak.

"I'm sorry, Sherlock."

John Watson watched as the barriers came down, the cage lifted, Sherlock freed.
"You're not a freak. You're a genius."

Sherlock buried his face in his friend's shoulder.
"People use me, John. People know I'm famous. They try to take advantage of me by giving me sympathy, fake love. They know that I've never been accepted. They know my weak point. Ive never been accepted, John. Never. I'm a freak."

Anger boiled in him. "No, Sherlock. You're not a freak."

"Thank you, John. I've never known what it feels like to be accepted after all those years of being called a freak."

Cancelled memories came back, children crowding around a bleeding young Sherlock, laughing, screaming. "FREAK!"

Deducing people when he thought it would impress them, make a good first impression. "You're a bloody freak and a show-off!"

Sitting alone on a table, head in his hands, trying to stop his nose from bleeding. Girls flocking in, looking at him and turning away with looks of disgust. "What a freak."

"I don't care what anyone else says and you shouldn't either. You're not a freak, Sherlock."
A smile formed on Sherlock Holmes' lips.

"Thank you...." He whispered.
