I looked up to meet eyes with a beautiful white chandelier. It reminded me of some of my previous travel experiences. It took me back to a time of elegance-beautiful dresses, expensive dinnerware, and of course the people. The only thing that hasn't changed in most of our history were the people. The only thing different was the lifestyle they were surrounded by and how they related to it. Otherwise, they were still just people. People chained to a time where their surroundings shaped them.
"Hello, I'm Marit. I'll be checking you two in today." A young woman approached, and grabbed the bags from Cliff's hands.
"Thank you! It's a pleasure to meet you, Marit. I'm Cliff and this is Jackie." Cliff said extending a hand. Marit placed the bags on a cart and shook Cliff's hand.
"Lana has already booked your rooms. We are confident you will love your stay. Will you please follow me?" Marit said with a large smile plastered across her face. Either she loves her job or the smile is part of the uniform.
We took the elevator to the 7th and final floor and followed her to the end of the hall where she opened one of our doors.
"Here we are!" She was a bit giddy. "How about a tour?" She asked as she proceeded to give us the tour.
"Here is the king size bed. Just fantastic. There is a small kitchen. Stocked might I add! No extra charges. It comes with the room!" She chuckled and carried on.
"There's a huge TV, a Jacuzzi, and a large walk in shower in the bathroom. Let's go see your view now!" We followed her to the window. Wow. It was getting darker now, pinks and yellows flooded the oceans blue hue. It was gorgeous.
"Cliff, I'll take you to yours now! Follow me!" Marit said. I stayed put, staring into the ocean.
